So, only just realised the other day that there are no front sensors so have written to Audi as I had it in writing that front sensors were standard on the Black Edition.

They're looking into an OEM solution but sounds like it will be a retrofit.

They have confirmed it will work with the graphical display.

Interesting to see what route they go for as thought it would just be sensors + wiring + software update...

There are OEM+ retrofitters who can do the job for the dealer - just make sure they're including fitting and wiring up the button on the dash to give you manual control of the front sensor activation. Some do a half-arsed job

That'll be a fairly major change from the B5!

On later cars there's still basically 2 systems - if you have 'jukebox' as a media choice then it's defo HDD. If you have a DVD slot and x2 SD cards, but no jukebox, it could be MMI 3G Basic which runs off the DVD slot in the dash or can be transferred to one of the SD card slots.
My recently collected 09 version has the 3G joystick, 'jukebox' as a media choice, a CD slot and x2 SD cards and B&O speaker set. But I don't have DAB (just analogue). Would this be something other than MMI 3G Basic?

That is tech pack high aka MMI 3G. The jukebox bit means it must be that smile DAB was an option even on top of the tech pack high spec, at about £300. It can be retrofitted, I believe.

The DAB in my A5 (same system) is worse than useless, i wouldnt pay for it. Constantly loses signal and switches back to FM so never bother using it now.

Mine works fine. There are a few black spots where I loose signal but otherwise it works well. I found it irritating when it lost signal and switched to FM as it repeated the last couple of seconds so I turned that off, not irritating now!

My DAB (retrofitted) works perfectly. It has a "booster" (additional part number) so this may help?

Collected today and I can confirm it does indeed have Jukebox and HDD so I'm happy! Loving the car so far, picked the worst day of the summer to drive 2 hours down the M4 and back with the weather and holiday traffic so haven't had a chance for a decent drive, but she's definitely rapid! Even managed 35.7mpg for the 50 or so miles between Bath and Reading on the M4 in the worst of the weather mostly at 55-70mph, and 32mpg for the entire 80 miles trip home with the rest on A roads. Not that fuel economy a major factor but pleasantly surprised and impressed nonetheless.

32mpg!? What, I've never seen over 28.8 inc an 8 hour motorway drive, and I still thought that was ok given the cars performance.

Stick it in comfort, use cruise and it'll go into 7th at something daft like 45mph and ~1100 rpm.

I've had mine for about 6 weeks now and I love it, I've had 34 ave mpg on a run to Kent from south Mims which is great for this kind of performance car.

I love the great turn of speed when you need it and driving in the really wet whether yesterday was a pleasure.

The only things I need now are the MRC stage 2 and new exhaust trims as the current ones are shotfrown

Do a brimmed tank to brimmed tank calculation on economy and you'll find it's a fair bit worse than the DIS suggests! Ours doesn't do any better than mid-20s at a 90 cruise, even though the engine is barely turning over. Comfort does seem to override engine settings in auto, which at that speed seem to force it into dynamic mode!

Bluesmurf - I've just cleaned ours up, which were black and completely resistant to any chemical liquid cleaning.

Used this:

and this:

with some of this around the openings to prevent damage to the plastic:

I'm amazed how much better they look now - only a couple of bits that might need a 2nd go at removing, plus i can probably clean up the inside of the pipe if I can be bothered!

Yeh will do a brim to brim once I have a few tanks playing or have a long trip to make as I know OBC calcs can be a fair way out (although on our Leon they're within 1mpg as was the 130i). Not sure if/how much difference it makes but mine's a facelift with the lower emissions and stop/start, but that only kicked in once so wouldn't have a meaningful effect, but it was wet and slow with lots of spray so not normal a motorway journey.

From my very limited experience so far I'm not sure 7th at that speed is the most economical way, felt like it was labouring a bit below ~50mph in top and gave me the urge to knock it down a gear.

Yep tried all cleaning products and it still won't all come offfrown

How easy is it to get tips off and leave them in something like coca cola for a few hours?

Thanks

Mine are a quite black too, looks like the garage had a good go at cleaning them up but the inner pipes in particular are quite bad. I'm sure I read somewhere (possibly earlier in this thread) that you could remove them fairly easily but not sure how.

Have to say I agree - it doesn't feel like it should be the most economical mode - but when I leave it to do its own thing is when I get the best results. I suspect the times it feels like it's labouring are countered by the times when it is the best gear to be in.

Chaps, if you look in MMI at the car setup, there's a section for number of key fobs programmed to the car. What's the standard number of keys that should be in there from the factory, mine says 3?

As well as the two main keys I do have a hollow plastic key which looks as though it should have something slide inside which I'm guessing is a valet/spare manual key of some sort? If so then I'm missing the middle bit, is this the third key I'm seeing programmed in or is that purely a mechanical key for the doors and there's another full electronic key somewhere that's perhaps been lost and replaced?
