I reckon about 6ft 1 opening. I stood tall and it goes over my head by at least 1 inch, maybe 1.5 inches. So no risk of banging my head!
I'm 6'3 and bang my head on most things, but never, so far, an Avant tailgate. However, I'm pretty used to ducking...

Do you have a power tailgate? I think there's a way of 'programming' those to a specific height to avoid trashing the tailgate on your garage roof. You might want to read the manual if so...

Found it. You put the tailgate at the height you want and press and hold the button until the lights flash. Hey presto, no more headaches!

It will need a bit of modding as mine has front parking sensors and this doesn't, but doesn't look too hard to sort.

Just had a little play in the car, the crack from the exhaust on the upshift is sort of addictive!

So I'm being tempted to chop in my Cayenne for one of these (avant guise). However, finding a car WITHOUT the Super Sport sets is nigh on impossible! Really after a facelift version...

Biggest reason for the seat thing is to cater for kiddie seats in the back. Have any of you folk fitted front facing seats with the super sports? How much space is actually left as the super sports look like they take up LOADS. Essentially I'm comparing it to what I found when trying out a C63 estate.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Ta,

We have a Recaro with an ISOFIX base fitted behind the passenger seat and it's ok but not mega roomy. I would think that a seat (ISOFIX or otherwise) that didn't use a separate base would be fine.

I'm actually not sure that the SS seats actually take up that much more room than the normal ones, I believe it's 90% optical illusion but I've not actually compared the seats side by side.

I've got Maxi cosi Pearl on Isofix base and I could not sit comfortably in the seat in front of it leaving space for my kids legs. My wife who is 175cm just about manages it but I'm 191cm.

I can take some photos for you at the end of the week. I have two kids in the back of mine, I think the Super Sports take up a little more space.

SS seats and 1 in a high back booster. No issues with space and on longer journeys usually have a 5ft9 wife sat behind my 5ft9 driving position. Don't think the seat backs are much different but you can definitely see less around the tombstone seat backs so feels a bit more claustrophobic

My boy behind my wife, she is about 5 foot 8, and he's got enough room to swing his legs. Behind me, and I have my seat a long way back, it's tight but he doesn't moan.

Cheers for the info guys! 'theboyfold' - Pics would be very welcomed smile

The tombstone thing is indeed probably the biggest issue - making it feel more claustrophobic. Will have to ultimately try both kiddie seats together.

And me. Behind normal seats though. Plenty of room for an 8 yr old's legs behind it, and it's not so close to him that he complains the DVD player on the back of the seat is too close (though do kids ever complain about being too close to the TV...??)

NUTS! I totally forgot about the DVD's!! Mine fits onto the headrest posts so I guess standard seats it is then!

LocoBlade - Will keep you in mind about the seat swap! Personally I also only like the standard 18" S4 wheels so these too will be up for swaps smile

Whisperbars are the only roof bars to go for these days, well if you want to leave them on the car for more than the occasional journey.

I'm after some 19" and have good condition 18's so would be up for a swap with some cash your way depending on tyre condition etc.
