I'll need to check what my mate was running on his S4 when we went skiing, he absolutely hoon'd it up the roads on the mountain to the resort - I was staggered at how well it performed, it must have been winters - I dont recall us having any issues what-so-ever with grip in the snowed over car parks either.

Oh once you have a set of Winters. They are invincible with reasons. you can swerve, and you can speed up and you can slam the brake...well to an extent of course.

...who have tasked BCA with getting rid of it:

Currently on auction for a third time having attracted no bids. Anyone fancy it? wink

If a Audi dealer is moving it on theres got to be something pretty terminal wrong with it shirley?
What chance would a mere mortal DIYer have with it?

Would it be the red leather that are putting people off?

It'll be the engine fault and poor paintwork that'll put people off. Red leather is ok in one of these - adds a bit of contrast to a plain exterior colour smile

The respray looks like a rattle can job; the engine fault is merely one of its qualities alongside the plethora of mechanical and electrical issues it appears to have. I'm quite surprised it isn't in the non-runners sale.

I am morbidly curious about what happens to it though...

What area of UK? Do you have a photo? Absolutely worth putting it on Facebook and Twitter.

An RS3 stolen last week was located within 12 hours after it went mad on social media and dozens of sightings were called in to police.
