Anyone else a little disspaointed in the dipped beam headlight aim of the 8.5.

On dark country national linit roads they dont seen 'high' enough so I dont feel that I can see unexpected hazards far ahead in the road.

You cannot adjust HID's in car or through the MMI and although sticking high beams on solves the issue, you have to drop them again before you blind oncomeing traffic.

They are adjustable, had the same issue with the S5, dealer reset horizontal apparently.

Let us know how you get on. I'm always a bit wary of US reviews as they can be overly enthusiastic.

Hi, i'm a recent nee owner of a 2012 S4 avant bought in September and thought i'd say hello.

Interestingly, today I picked up a set of winter wheels (alloy rims and pireli tyres) for just £730 from my local Audi dealer. Just thought i'd let you know as that is a fantastic price in my opinion.

That's cheap, they are normally at least twice as much!

That's a great, price. I guess they have a stock they need to clear due to the mild winter and the lack of snow.

That's a great price. Do they have a special offer, or did you just haggle?

I guess they're 225/45 R18s?

Winter tyres on 18's should be 245/40.

I didn't think 17's would fit over S4 brakes?

Some will apparently. My winters are 225/40s on 18" wheels. After-market rims though which are a bd to centre properly and lead to vibration at cruising speeds (needed them in a hurry a while back - I should really just get some OEM rims now.) frown

I'm sure some wheels may be a issue, but was not a problem for the set I used (B7 17" ones)

Im using my standard 19" wheels with Vredstein Wintac Extreme S on http://www.vredestein.co.uk/car-tyres/winter/wintr...

Maybe not ideal due to size but better than nothing (and completely useless in the current SE's balmy 14 degrees C)

My previous set lasted 4 seasons. This set I bought from Oponeo for £130 a corner. Rude to turn them down although they can take up to a week to arrive.

I'm on the lookout for a used B8 S4 Avant but have never considered Audi before so don't know much about the option lists. I've downloadad the brochure and the basic S4 kit looks to be SE level (but not the SE plus, or whatever they call it). The black edition looks to be prety well loaded; Nav etc, but they seem to hold a bigger premium in the used market than their "new" price would suggest is reasonable.

Can someone help me with a couple of Q's?

Are there any must have options?
Is the B&O stereo worth it - I have had BOSE on my Porsches and regret not having it on my current one
Are the panoramic roof options a good call?
Anyone got the flat bottomed steering wheel - looks cool, but is it a bit gimmicky?

Thanks in advance

Strange, why would the S5 which is pretty much identical underneath use them?

I have a 2015 S4 and love the B&O unit (it was standard in mine as it's the Black Edition). I also have the roof, which I love but I know they are not to everybody's taste, I find that it makes a massive difference to the light in the cabin, and it's not too noisy when it's open.

I'm not so sold on the flat bottomed wheel, I find it's a bit too flat in comparison to ones I've had in the past, it's not a massive issue though.

I would assume that's a mess up?

I used to run Dunlop wintersports 225/50R17 AO's (as in Audi spec) on 7.5J17 rimms (Audi B7 rimms)

the 19" S4 rim are J8.5, and you should not be fitting 225 tyres on a J8.5 rim.
