The car does not need to be moving for the system to reset. It can be done at standstill with just the ignition switched on. Sounds as though you have a fault.
Hi Cuprabob, i think there is a fault, my assumptions are that the whole TPS unit has been removed completley hence why no machine plugged into the ecu will erase it but i will be taking it to the dealership to have a full inspection

There is no unit. The reset button just plugs into the ABS control unit via a wiring harness as the system uses the ABS wheel speed sensors to detect the deflation.

Hi Bob - I think it does need to be moving. If it's using the ABS sensors then I don't see how it could reset when stationary. I have a 2009 Scirocco and I'm fairly sure that is the case.

Certainly on my R32 it could be reset at a standstill with just the ignition switched on.

In fact on the later Sciroccos they moved the button into the glovebox from the centre console making it nigh on impossible to reset while moving unless a passenger resets it.

Once reset it's comparing rolling radius of the 4 wheels relative to each other and triggering on a difference. If all 4 wheels deflate at the same rate it will not detect the deflation.

Same as you can 3 wheels at 40psi and one at 10psi when you reset it and it won't trigger until one falls by around 5psi.

Hi Cuprabob ive tries many times before to reset it at a standstill for hours checking  the tyre pressures making sure each wheel was at its correct psi, so what do you suggest then mate, like you said there is no unit and its all controlled via the Abs harness, could it be that wheels on the leon are not alloys and are trims as i believe they shouldnt have come with the car, and thanks for the useful information and replies appreciate thw help

Have you tried connecting it to VAGcom software , most readers that I've tried are fairly hopeless on VAG vehicles
