Will a 56 plate Octavia have a DPF?
Discussion
1.9 I don't believe will. I think it was something fitted to the 2.0 TDI engines from about 2008 onwards. Earlier 2.0 TDIs didn't have them - My Dad's TDI Golf mk5 sure didn't (2004) To my knowledge, no 1.9 engine ever got a DPF - In the newer shape cars, the only 1.9 is a 105bhp PD engine. Again, just a simple catalytic convertor only.
PS: My knowledge of cats is limited as my 1.9 TDI has not been running a cat since about 2004.

The Golf Bluemotion and a few other cars fitted with that engine did get a DPF, but only really 2008/ 2009. They have stopped making the 1.9 now.. at lastPS: My knowledge of cats is limited as my 1.9 TDI has not been running a cat since about 2004.
