Audi A3 PDF warning light

Can anyone help, i have an Audi A3 170 and the PDF warning light has come on.
It started first with the light coming on 2 days later the glowplug warning light and the engine management light came on and to top it all it went into limp mode. I was reliably informed that it was the exhaust pressure sensor and the fault code and the problem as remained. Today i have had the car to an independant Audi mechanic who has tried a new exhaust pressure sensor again and the fault codes are still there.
Acording to the auto logic software he uses the car last did a regen 9km ago , he can not do a forsed regen because the fault code can not be erased, the fault code throughout this has been 08194 particle trap bank 1 efficiency below threshold p2002 short with power . Acording to the snapon scanner the ash mass in the PDF is 43.5% .
Anybody any ideas on this please ?

Did you at this time attempt to regen the DPF as per the handbook, failure to do so in an ammount of time/milage will result in the warning lights coming on and the car going into limp home mode. Failure to regenerate caused the DPF to become too full of ash and become too dangerous to try and regen. Think its over 50 or 60%, but cant remember.leftear67 said:

Was the fault code recovered from the car refering to the exhaust gas pressure sensor? if not, its not so likely to fix the problem. However those sensors are notoriously unreliable, I changed 3 or 4 in 1 day a few months back.leftear67 said:

That doesnt exactly make sence, P2002 or 08194 is the code for DPF bellow efficience threshold, but you also say somthing was short to power. What was short to power?? this will probably be the fault, maybe it was one of the exhaust gas temperature sensors?? It will either be a sensor issue or a failed DPF. There are two exhaust gas temp sensors and the pressure sensor (thats already been change) that the ECU uses to calculate the ash mass and operation of the DPF, Make sure they are all checked out.
Also the pipes that go from the pressure sensor to the DPF need to be blown out to be sure they are not blocked with soot etc, as that will make the pressure sensor give false readings.
they fitted the first new exhaust pressure sensor . when i got the car back off audi the glow plug warning light and managment light were still on but it was,nt in limp mode . they seemed to be happy at that point and let me part with my money {i wasnt but, i cant be arsed arguing with them just want it sorted now } not a good experience of a maine agent, is trap 1 the inlet side to the dpf or the exhaust side of it
This is a sickness that infects all Audi dpf's systems , there is a cure
It is called a dpfectomy .
Forget the 2,000 rpm put it in 3rd and take it up to 4,000 rpm for 10 minutes .
I am sick to death of mine the car gets long distance at 100 mph+ ( Germany ) and it still complains.
Keep away from vegie diesel ( or diesel with vegie added ) and make the engine work very hard once a week

There is only one trap or filter. Its refering to bank one, but as its a four cylinder engine the is only one bank anyway, its just the generic terminalogy of the OBD fault description. Particle trap or particle filter bank 1.I'd take it back to audi and complain, You charged me X£ to fix this, its not fixed.
@ £105 pound an hour + vat , i have no intention of darkening audis door step again , i will only be violated once and not made to say thank you . i will sort it one way or another , fingers crossed it will burn down on its next regen , thank you for your help and guidance i will fix this am sure . just orderd vcds , vag .com hopefully that will help , but am sure i will post a message for more help.thanks TT

Unlikely to be completely clean unless its a new filter. If the dpf is getting full it will need to regen more frequently many thanks

Easy Fix.
Either run it for a good 20 / 30 minutes on a motorway.
OR
If you can't do the above due to roads around you, then ensure that you keep the car at 2k Revs as a minimum in whatever gear you are in.
This will clear any faults and assist with reducing the possibility of a DPF activation once again.
Keep doing it though. Don't go back to your old driving habits, otherwise, guess what - it comes back !!
