Picked up our 55 plate A4 2.0tdi s-line yesterday and absolutely luv it!!

When the car is stationery and just ticking over though, the engine feels like it shakes more than usual, itl tick over perfect, nice n smooth then now n again itll give a shake! Is this a 2.0tdi trait?
Also, 1st gear feels VERY tall, when pulling away it feels as if its very laggy, underpowered but as soon as ur on the move and into 2nd gear, the turbo spools up perfect and the car accelerates vreat! Again, is this a 2.0tdi trait?

Cheers, Ian

Try having a search of this forum: http://www.vwaudiforum.co.uk/forum/forumdisplay.ph...

Plenty of chat about the idle. My B7 still does it until it reaches operating temperature, but less so now i've had the cambelt done and added some millers additive

First gear is pretty short on them and I'm pretty sure they're boost limited too (to make pulling away smoother).

If you've just bought it do you know when it was last serviced? Last fuel filter etc?

sounds like you got simlar trouble i had to mine !!!!! injector gone/going faulty no 1 can test them wich one it can be, i had this trouble with mine injector leaking and not atomize the fuel properly, you have to have new one's they all use the same type of injector bosch piezo common rail injector if the injector serial number ends with .......115 no one can test them and £300+ each i work on engines and i seem to be telling audi whats was wrong with it and how to find the fault how to do it they are muppets just because it shows no error code on the laptop they say there is nothing wrong. a lap top can not tell you what the fuel is doing at the injector tip wether its atomizing it properly it can only tell if the electric solinoid is working as it should
type in audi a6 3.0 tdi injector and have a good read

I thought the 2.0tdi in the 55 plate A4 was a PD engine, not common rail?

Siemens Piezo injectors are in the 170 version, the 140 has Bosch PD injectors.

Possibly the dual mass flywheel on its way out.
