picked up the prop from dave mac in coventry, the 6060 gearbox uses a fixed output plate, s my old t56 one was no good

finally found a decent set of 17 rl7, (which need a recolour), so my gottis are now for sale

Without doubt the best looking wheels for a Griff.

I liked them, but it wasnt till i fitted them today i realised that i REALLY liked the way they look on the car.

just as well as the gottis are now sold...

i planned to refurbish them, but i quite look the look with the gold and green......damn, i'm rethinking colour choices again...still, looking at how little paint is left after the lads at sportmotive have done their "flatting".....wont be much green left

the 6060 does look good. there is a little 10mm tab on the back RH of the casing S, about 3mm thick. do yourself a favour and cut it off...there is only 4mm clearance with it fitted, and it does nothing apart from giving something to cable tie to.

for my application the shifter needs to be offset 2.5 inches back, and 2.5 inches right (looking from above, standing behind the transmission).

the closest i found was from ebay guys at $285. this has positive stops (which i now know i didnt need, but they can be locked off)

OFFSET 2" LEFT OR RIGHT 2.450" BACKWARD 81-412-075-07

i think you can get them without positive stops with a part number 81-412-074-07, but i would just ask jeff at performance warehouse.

What starter do you plan to use on your mill? Used std GM on my LS2, it's a bit heat sensitive, solenoid will stick when heated by exhaust routed underneath..

finally decided on a colour for the repaint of the griff, wanted to stay green, but lighter....

reminds me of one of my favourite cars running round le mans

the interior leather and vinyl is a strong biscuit colour, so i need to have a reasonably strong exterior colour too.

sent the dash off to be re-veneered, and will be getting a new carpet and hood retrim over the next couple of weeks.[url]
I agree with you 100% there if I chose to change the colour of mine I would go for the Aston Green similar to Swannys old Griff and a nice biscuit interior similar to RichB's Griff

i think rich B has more balls than me with regard to interiors.....i have trouble deciding on white vs hint of white for a ceiling

i've cut an access panel in the fibreglass tunnel, but made a ali plate with a rubber gearstick gaiter fitted which covers the hole.

i beat this one to give a little clearance, but the new one which i will make is flat as this shifter assembly is lower than the tunnel (no laughing at my panel beating, you dont see this part...)

also, the rl7 didnt come with centres, so had these spun in ali and polished for me to fit the centres and clear the axle nuts at the rear

Can the shifter be fitted in situ?

yes, i cut an access panel (like the later cars), i dont think you could fit it in without though as the top of the shifter is within 5mm of the underside of the tunnel, so no room to manouver it in

dremel with a tile cutter bit....5 min job

Good to know, I can get it in sooner and keep this as one of the last jobs, just need to pick a clutch that will take a nitrous launch

Would there be space to do that on The RV8?

i think so, but i really didnt spend much time looking at the RV8 in situ. so i cant recall exactly how close it was anywhere, but the ls is larger pretty much everywhere

wavey Actually it was Mrs RichB who chose the interior colours and worked out how to lay out the two tone effect, I wanted burgundy red hehe Glad she convinced me otherwise though, even after 13 years I still love the inside of my Griff.

props to Mrs Rich B...looks great, she was correct.

i now let MRS ssppgg have the final say in anything colour wise....she has far more taste than I
