nice to see our old Griff - the Halcyon Midas one with the vented bonnet from Fibron

My daughter may well have been concieved in that car!!!!!!- we sold her in 2002 - always regretted it.

I know she was written off in 2004(cat d fibreglass damage only) but has obviously been brought back to life in a precise way - looks as good as new

Lovely photos. Well done

You'd be surprised how many midgets you get behind the rear seats of a Griff. wink

The roof WAS off,the humidity was high - the temperature in the car also - the moon was shimmering over the sparkling mill-pond that was the sea.

I'll never forget that night on the fish dock at Grimsby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Christian

Like the look of your Griff with the LS - as Mr Wheeler(RIP) should have done but I am sure you've been told that before.

I am just about to replace the TVR lump in my 1984 Defender with a Chevy L98 5.7(the last engine before the LS1) from a 1995 overfinch discovery, together with all the running gear. Originally fuel-injected with cast heads, , I am just completeing a full Edelbrock aluminium head conversion, with performer cam and inlet, roller rockers, 600 carb etc.

With the headers and exhaust I have chosen I should be getting 350bhp and 400lbs of torque

Seems Chevy is the way to go for reliability, longevity and outright thump - such a shame to leave the venerable rover V8 behind - it is a lovely engine but just can't compete with the chevy - sad but true.

Would really like to have a look at your griff, though - which meet will you be attending next?

Hi Chistian

I used to play for quins so I have quite a lot of mates in your kneck of the woods - I don't think there is PM facility on this forum but if you email a reply to my ad in the landrover spares section of these classifieds - selling my V8 engine - then I can get in touch
