Heliox - Diseasels just don't appreciate the feel of the lash do they?

However you could "chip" it following Veg's advice. Drive it to the chippy, eat chips, pour contents of chipoiler into Metro's tank, then drive home!

Hear hear, Mark. Strong words softly spoken.

Absolutely, Mark And I were getting a bit of a pasting in this thread as well as support but as usual Mark "cleans up" and very diplomatically.
I read the thread back and you can't help but notice the amount of support for modifications.
Tim

Hi Tim

As me (Griff 500) and my business partner (Chim 450) have both our cars at T-V-R Services at the moment waiting for twin pot carbon plenhams from you, and we can't have them till the end on the month mods must be getting very popular indeed, hurry up!!! (only joking) can't wait to let Mark at them on the RR.

A lot of the insurance companies actually are on Pistonheads and know that a MA chip will increase the power as well as all the other things and will evaluate the increased risk accordingly. Some do not like the idea of taking a very high powered sports car and further increasing its performance without looking at the whole car and the driver's background (age does play a big big part here).

It is very worthwhile checking with your insurance company before modifying the car just in case.

The only modification that won't potentially load the insurance is driver training....

Mannings were cool about the mods provided I could prove the output was not above the factory figures. I sent a copy of my dyno readout and that seemed to satisfy them

Weber give +20% over stock, Bosch +25%. Unless you need the extra 5% (which you won't) the Webers will give a better spray pattern and therefore better burn.

I thought it was best tho have an injector that gave slightly more than actually required rather than a very large one which would possibly not spray correctly.

I was refering to spray pattern as different makes give different spray patterns

...late again!

Well,

mine's Fncking great!

thanks to Mr Adams, V8 D, Peninsula TVR (and ACT for various info, advice and bits in a roundabout way)

its a belter, and was only 2 secs slower than a GT3RS at Le Mans last month (2.4miles)...and that cost £85K!!!

probably cost £7k all in for suspension, brakes, wheels, induction, exhaust, tyres, and several chipping sessions which were all great fun on their own!

reckon that's about 2peneths worth!!

Shnozz mentioned Nos at the beginning of this thread but everyone ignored him (I think).

I hope a few more people will take it on board soon and insurance companies will start to understand and cover it.
I reckon its great fun and definitly one of the most fun ways forward.

Just a quick note for Gazboy.

If you look at the smallest part of the gain, you would be right! If you have a look at this current thread
www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=116668&f=9&h=0&hw=adams
you will see there is a little more to it than the peak figures alone.

A wise man also checks the torque figures, and the numbers each side of the peak.....

PS - Guillotine - your motor IS fusking great!

PPS - you should always use the smallest injector you can get away with, whilst allowing future "headroom"

i took my griff to mech/ma as seemed to be down on power even after a good service had ma chip and afm fitted rr session pinpointed several items a little out result wos extra 35 bhp peak at approx 4500 rpm
but at 6000 power up 72 bhp it also runs a lot smoother at 2500 felt like someone had added 2 extra cylinders well worth £1000 =£13.89 per bhp
