Warning Light Symbol Panel

Has anyone had any problems fitting the warning light symbol panel? I gave mine a to a garage who were organising a re-veneer of my dash, and my car ('97 Griff) came back with the original panel and the info that the panel was 2mm too small allowing light in around the edges. I found this surprising considering how many people here have bought the panels.
Do up your original panel with plumbers tape. Preparation 45 minutes, fixing 3 seconds. Cost a couple of quid. Will post the process shortly. Also easy on LH Drive cars. Sorry PH not uploading image, again!

Thanks for the confirmation Pete. I had a full dash off restoration so I'm totally bemused by why the garage could not fit the new panel. Is there a way to remove the warning symbol panel without having to remove the dash (without scratching the nice new veneer I now have)?
Use a thin bladed surgical scalpel along middle of panel edge and lever it out gently. Should pop out. Mine pops out with finger nail.Green Meanie said:
Very surprised to hear the panel was too small to fit,asI made them larger so they had to be trimmed to fit.
What are the measurements of the one you have, may have an odd one knocking about somewhere.

Me too. The only difference I immediately note is the original has rounded corners. I will try and prise out the original and lay them side by side. What are the measurements of the one you have, may have an odd one knocking about somewhere.
