When I replaced the cam in my Griff, I took the opportunity to replace the original Rover V8 rockers with Yella Terra rollers. Not included in the kit were spacers to raise the rocker covers as the rollers will strike the cover due to their extra height.

As a temporary measure I siliconed two rubber gaskets together until I found a better solution.

A friend and I got together and have created aluminium spacers which are water cut from aluminium sheet. They fit and work well.

Is there are a market for these?. I am unsure how many people change to roller rockers and therefore if it's worth considering going to the effort and making these available.

Not wanting to make megabucks..just in providing these to help in making the conversion more professional

All being well, I'd be interested in a set.

I have YT rollers under my P6B rocker covers and use a 1/4 inch steel spacer that I bought off ebay from the UK. I use Felpro gaskets each side of it. Works well but the steel spacers are quite heavy so I'd be interested in alloy versions if available.

Had my Y/T's delivered today. They look like a different ratio at first glance? Also, weighed them and they are twice the weight of originals??
Comments appreciated,
The ratio bothers me most, should I have pedestals to match? wasn't aware of such. ears
PS; op, I bought the steel spacers at £45 pair, if it helps.

Mine are labelled as 1.6 ratio and look to have exactly the same effective dimensions as an original. They are certainly heavier but were always going to be given the meatier construction and the extra steel for the roller tips and adjusters. Just want to get the blighters in but Howard keeps finding snags hehe

Confused, as mine look very different side by side.

Different how? If the three contact points match (allowing for the adjuster being backed right out when shipped), then the rest is down to the heavier form...

Different in the new look 'less' angled than the old, I'll have to post a piccy.
Might be me being paranoid, but looks obvious.

OP, did you have any leaks when you used double gaskets? I might have to do this as a short term solution to meet a deadline.

Initially, I'm going to try the approach that spend mentioned, i.e. grinding back the internal indent casting;

Not sure where you got the info from, but just to clarify:

Roller rockers will fit under the TVR cast covers, but you can have problems in the middle (twixt pots 3/5 & 4/6 where there is a dent in the covers) depending on the width of the rocker arms. Outriggers fit fine, beefier pedestals fit fine. Crane rollers fitted fine, Kenne Belles were too wide so had to grind a little off the corners and inside the casting. As with everything you have to check carefully for clearance on assembly.... They 'will/can' fit & they 'do' fit have subtly different contexts wink

Studs & long nuts work extremely well with these covers also smile which makes them actually quite a pleasant job to pop off & on rofl

Update; I got away without using spacers, double gaskets or grinding back the std TVR rocker covers.

Just a thought Nigel but is this more a symptom of excess oil getting pumped up to the rocker chests perhaps? Not unusual to restrict flow up through the pedestals to prevent flooding/maintain pressure downstairs.

Nigel, I had a pair of steel spacers from V8 tuner and I managed to get them to seal first go. They needed a little straightening when I got them and a couple of holes enlarged a little to line up but sealed from go. I put silicone sealant between spacer and head, then blue hylomar between spacer and normal gasket. As I said, no leaks at all and I've removed them once just to make sure of clearance between rocker cover and YT rockers.
[oops, just realised and sorry OP getmecoat ]

Well i have vented both rocker covers to catch tank, then catch tank to supercharger inlet to create some vacuum.

It could be of course my spacers may not be perfectly flat, hence I'll have another go.
