After last years "episode" I wondered if we should look at alternatives. There arent many as you can imagine - 1) Chequers - spoke to them and they cant accomodate the numbers and dont do outside events so that is dead, 2) Back to the usual or 3) eat at the hotel - could get a room but would may need to arrange some entertainment.
Not wishing to cut our noses off by settling for a more expensive option with little atmosphere but what do you lot think. I need a concensus quickly.

the aussie BBQ??

we've a local chap that provides BBQ type catering off a van. caters for different events

no idea if the hotel would accommodate that?

just an idea

I think the room at the Hotel would be OK depending on availability ( Weddings etc). We seem to be a very social lot and don't need entertainment. Its just nice chatting to other owners and meeting new Friends. smile

I'd vote Bbq, has always been a nice change to usual indoor meal like the curry. Would be concerned food and beer would get pricey quick at hotel?

? Worth a chat with the pub to let them know we might go elsewhere?

End of the day it's the people that make it a good night.

Can't you just ask the pub to 'up their game' as we found last year's a bit lacking?...

TBH I think the pub is a much better option over the hotel for price and relaxed atmosphere smile
