The immobiliser relay gradually fails over time. I started with the hot start issue, ended with the indicator lights on one side only but permanently and a flat battery.

Call Carl Baker. His phone number is on www.tvruk.tv
He is based now in south western France.
He will talk it through with you and tell you how to bypass the immobiliser to get it going.

Have you tried the "thump the passenger dash underside while turning the key" method which helps prove if it's the immobiliser getting stuck?

Nop, I don't even know where to thump...
I'd really like to bypass the whole immobilizer thing...

If the fuel pump isn't priming it does sound like the immobiliser is kaput, if you want to try the thump method try hitting the passenger underside near the transmission tunnel whilst turning the key it may spring into life although this does indicate that the immobiliser is almost dead!

It may also still be the ignition switch, you'll need the dash top off to check this out properly checking the ignition feed to the META system etc and to perform the necessary re-wiring from Carl.

I saw/spoke to Carl this week at Taylor TVR, not sure how long he is over for but it might be possible to catch him before he heads back to France - worth a call to Dan Taylor to check?

A top META immobiliser man is David Fairclough of HF Solutions 07721 654829 mobile. He managed META UK before doing his own. First class service for me. Will be at the Burghley gathering today.

Also check the live feed to the starter solenoid is delivering its charge and is connected. It's only a slip on connection.
