Lots have different suspension and all have different opinions on it, much like what oil to use this subject does divide owners ...
FFG I believe has nitrons on one of his fleet and rates them well.
I went from knackered factory fit to Gaz Gold Pro and the difference was like night and day. I then went from GGP to Nitron(NTR 3 way) and it was a similar leap in performance for me. FFG I believe has nitrons on one of his fleet and rates them well.
It all depends on budget, if you are going from knackered stock then anything will feel better than before, its down to what you want from them and whether you are prepared to pay a little bit more for the quality Nitron/Ohlin/Intrax/Penske at the top, but Gaz/Protech etc. are just as good as the originals where when new.
I personally chose Nitrons as they recommend and are supplied with softer springs than the competitors. When turned down they can provide a less harsh and less uncomfortable ride on the rubbish roads in my area plus they can be cranked up for track days. Therefore you also need to consider driving style and condition of the roads.

I have GGPs and love them, more than enough adjustment for me, but that's not to say i wouldn't love more expensive dampers even more. Never had them so don't know.
I was chatting to Derek of AbShocks at the Grief Grovel, and he said that in his opinion, with my mix of track days and fast road use, i would be best served with the twin adjustable GGP TAs, which are about £800 all in. New product, two adjuster knobs instead of one.
My TVR guy really rates the Gaz Monos, FWIW

My Griff 500 is on factory fitted standard shocks. Although handling is reasonable it does tend to bounce a bit. Thinking of changing to Nitrons probably over the winter period. Has anyone done this and found a significant difference.
I went though the same thoughts about a year ago. After researching extensively, talking to several experts and rides in a couple of cars, I went with new Bilstein's and Eibach springs.
Why? Becuase the cars with both Nitrons and Protechs I went in were too harsh for me. Some experts said they could be adjusted to my preference, others said they would always be harsher than standard. The deciding factor for me though was that they don't need taking off every couple of years for servicing.
How are they? Like night and day from the originals and perfect as far as I'm concerened for road and occasional track use. I suspect you'll find any new shocks will feel far better than tired ones, whatever the make.
