After being caught in a monsoon I've noticed rainwater under the drivers feet carpet. On further investigation I can see it’s coming in from the bottom of the steering column or above.

Firstly, is the bottom of the column a common place for a water leak or is it more likely to be coming in from above?
Secondly, is silicone sealant around the bottom of the column in true TVR style the only option or should there be a water seal?
Thirdly, do I apply sealant inside the foot well or in the wheel arch?
Cheers, Steve.
P.S. I’ve checked all the obvious grommets in the front wing including the brake reservoir and clutch cover.

Steve,
Could be wiper spindle, door seal or windscreen seal, maybe brake reservoir cover.

Paul, Thanks.

If it is coming in via the wiper spindle how do I seal it. Also can the windscreen be sealed without removing it?

Cheers
Steve

I have had that issue, water coming in around the washer pipe or windscreen.
I would drive off after a night of heavy rain and get a wet left ankle on the first right hand bend, And vice versa.

I think it's the washer pipe. Just bought a Leven hood cover, fitted it on a wet night and didn't get wet ankles the following day. The cover only covers the first 4 inches below the windscreen.

I finally traced my leak to the bonnet hinge brackets ( tight in the bulkhead corners). Just a suggestion to include whilst you've got the silicon gun out!

Also while you're there a dollop of fresh sealant around the pedal box top fixings (including the blank) might help.
