Pete, might be worth starting a new thread on the Griff and Chimp forums. Do you want me to do that? Pete
Hi Pete, by all means please do this as I am quite busy at the moment, if interested parties could PM me that would be great. Regards, Pete

Hi Cossors, go for wood, its the natural choice!! The problem is whether its the original wood or stainless the dash is a flimsy 1.5mm (or thinner in the case of some stainless dashes I have seen) thin sheet that flexes and requires switches and/or fixings to be glued in place! With my laminated concept there is provision for secure mechanical fixing using the backing layer and a more rigid overall structure due to the lamination.

The way ahead as I see it for those that require 'other' dash surfaces (i.e. stainless or carbon fibre), is to use the backing aluminium layer, then have a stainless (or carbon) layer cut and bonded to a thin ply layer, then assembled the same as the wood veneer version. This would give all the advantages of the new design (mechanical fixing and stability) and give the different finish required. Regards, Pete
