Hi guys.
I posted on here last year looking for a '91 Griff and then a '92 Griff without much luck at the time.

I am still in Japan but will be back in good old blighty for a few days in October to take a quick blast down to Bath for my parents' 50th and then back to Japan. I am still looking for a Griff ('92 pre-cat, or '91 if they exist) for when I finally return home so if anyone has one that needs a new home and they are somewhere close to the M4 Corridor up as far as Oxford then I think I can make the time to come by and perhaps return to Japan a little happier smile

Ideally looking for a Griff 430 but will consider a 4.0
I did email Topcats about the one they had listed but didn't get any reply and it looks like it has gone now anyway.

Condition-wise I am prepared to take a barn-find and restore it if needed so do let me know...

Thanks for looking!

My suggestion is to go and view the Privately Advertised Griffith 430 (Colour = Starfire Mica Blue- Blue)on this web, Lee has owned it for a number of years. Not many 4.3ltr griffs around. Don,t be put off by the price £15999, generally cheap cars cost you more in the long term.

I might be persuaded to part with my 1992 4.3 in Cureton Green with full Doeskin leather. I am however located in East Anglia which obviously is not within your M4 corridor; your decision.

Thanks Guys.

@citizen_smith. thanks for the advice PM'd Lee although it may be difficult to get over there depending on where he is.
@cjb44 thanks also. East Anglia may be more difficult to get to than Essex in the time I have available to me unfortunately frown
@David_Beer afraid I am looking for one of the earlier models if possible, but thanks for letting me know. if I was in the market for a 500 I would certainly be interested.

Anyone know about the 92 Griff that Hilton/Castle have advertised?
I have been "lurking" on here for quite a while and if memory serves me this one has been advertised for well over a year, perhaps 2, and is still with them while also having 2k added to the price...I guess they have to charge storage fees if they don't sell quickly!?

cheers for the info and help.

What about the Rosso Pearl 400 in the pistonheads classifieds, looks a good price?

Hi,

Don,t your waste time @ Castle, probably somebody's pride and joy once - "a while ago" I would say having seen it. It's a load of money for a 4.0 which after a while will always seem like it is lacking in something.

I have no axe to grind, but you absolutely right about the Castle car. We test drove this nearly two years ago and at that time it had been advertised for well over twelve months previously. It did have some minor issues, but the Sales Manager was totally inflexible on the price and seemed reluctant to solve the issues which their advert said they would, and his attitude was "I shall detail the engine compartment and advertise it for more money"; well he has raised the price and not sold it and I doubt from our encounter that they are worried about the length of time it has been in stock.

Seaside. I have a 92 400 which I'm thinking of selling, imperial blue, navy interior. I'm based in Middlesex so not too far off. Had my Griff for 8 years, it does need some TLC, I just don't get the time for it these days unfortunatly. PM me if you want more detail.

I've wondered for a while now why that car hasn't sold. Fair enough it isn't original but the T350 seats are good. It must have had a fortune spent on it, anyone seen it?
ETA I'm certain it's £13k now

Did think about that one myself when looking, this one seems a better bet in my opinion.

Surely £3.5K-ish would buy you a body lift and chassis refurb OR a respray OR a retrim OR an engine rebuild so you're looking at more than £10K to pay someone to do the lot?

Which begs the question why hasn't it sold? The advert reads like a car that's been well looked after. £12k now, might buy it meself if they weren't so ugly hehe

Just looked at the high definition images they have, and when you zoom in it looks cosmetically excellent, good paintwork, interior and the wheels have obviously been refurbished recently (which is expensive) so this and the description of the major work (chassis, interior, engine rebuild at TVR Power, wheel refurb) it looks very good to me.

So if this 400 is £12K (from a dealer) then what's a similar (good) condition 430 worth private and dealer? £14K when all that works done?

i looked at this one.
really nice guy, honest car and seemed like alot of the boxes that cost were ticked.
He was up front about some scuffs to paintwork but tbh not a huge cost to put right and the finished article would be stunning.
he sent me a walk around link and a hilarious exhaust video were he blipped the throttle and splattered the wife in pre cat smuts.. thats not a euphamism btw.
ill see if i can fish it out.
id of bid him myself if i hadnt of had mine fall in my lap.
cheers. and good luck.
go see it.
