Hi guys
I messed up in the garage yesterday. Whilst changing the rear wheel bearings and drifting out the old bearings, despite all of the warnings to be careful, clever old me has gone and scarred the inside of one of the carriers. After cursing my ham fistedness I did a quick surf around to source a replacement. I know (well I think I know) these are Cosworth items but can only find TVR coded replacements at around £90 from the usual sources. I have a preference to pay "Ford prices" and wondered if anyone out there has a part number or better still a URL where I can get a Ford replacement. The car is a 500 with the later bigger rear brakes (I believe it uses a different carrier from the older cars to cater for the different caliper mounting).
BTW before anyone suggests - I know I could pick up the Dremel and grind out the scars but I prefer to go for a new replacement so as not to have any chance of misalignment.

Thanks guys for any advice here.

Yes seen those - they look very good - and great value considering they have new bearings installed. My concern is I think there are different Cosworth hub options but I will try to talk to them today to see if I can get any comfort on that.

Simon - Yep checked that - Anembo Engineering tell me the billet carriers are for 273mm discs.
I did think about grinding off the scars on the old knackered carrier however the damage is on the central ridge that acts as the bearing backstop. There are a couple of jagged spikes that could be easily taken off but the concern I have is there is an indentation that possibly needs machining out. The pre-load on the bearing needs to be spot on and I don't feel 100% sure about getting the back of the bearing seated right. I'm prob worrying about nothing but these billet jobs are quite cheap considering they're coming with £80 of new bearings fitted and I won't have any worries about bearing pre-load.
I should be getting them delivered soon so I'll post back what they are like in the flesh - or should I say metal.
BTW If anyone wants a scarred carrier please PM me and pick it up for free.

Hard to see in the picture but I reckon those marks could easily be removed by a skilled fitter with hand tools.

I've salvaged far worse over the years.
