The Wedge and Griff owners always seemed the most enthusiastic of all the TVR owners from my experience, I don't have a problem with a joint event, after all there would be no Griffs without the Wedges.

Err, the chim guys are well up there, we have the busiest forum by far, track days, drag days and general stuff........

Anyhow it doesn't matter as long as people are doing what they enjoy best.

Maybe there should be several general TVR days? I always enjoy seeing other models.

I just like spending time with like minded people..... this is all most like Xmas for me, where I visit the relations and have a few beers once a year smile

Activities during the day great idea, but the reality of life is some (a lot) people travel long distance on Sat to attend, that they fancy a rest when they get there so counts Sat out, and Sunday morning everyone a tad bleary eyed wink

Totally agree about people traveling long distances and Sunday morning being bleary eyed not that I drink that much anyway wink but for those who wanted to join in with activities during Saturday they could travel up Friday and stay overnight and make a weekend of rather than rush to get there and feel like not joining in, there could be more than just one activity as well some in the morning for those staying over night or those that don,t have to travel far and some in the afternoon that is a lot less strenuous, some could just walk round the cars and "tyre kick" that is a joke by the way, then retire to the bar for the odd drink and put the TVR world to rights, then in the morning go and wander around the cars and for those traveling long distances can leave when ever they like or when they have had enough

Just my take on things smile

Hi Peeps...It might seem early doors but i would FFG to contact me please as i would like to start throwing some ideas about as regards to the combined event...I would like to call it the "Gredgefest 2015"..The Gredge is a Griff engined Wedge..Could of had "Wiff" but it doesn't sound as aggressive...Although that depends on the curry the night before...eek

It would be nice as a combined event rather than each of us doing our own thing in a corner, I have a plan of action and i think our events have similarities that we can utilise.

Last year at the "Wedgefest" i organised a Friday night meal at the Whitehorse Inn..Exceptional grub..The Saturday had the Rolling road..DB challenge..Concourse car..BHP shootout..A runout to the Heritage Motor Museum and then a Saturday nights entertainment including a really nice three course meal set out by the Hotel..The new chef certainly has took it up a peg or two...Awards & Prizes given, Raffle, Charity auction and our resident Elvis impersonator to round off the evening..Then bar till 4.30am..Sunday morning after breakfast we hit the Shakespeare Raceway for some octane infused bacon sarnies..

Hopefully this year it will be just as much fun although I'm looking for somewhere else to drive out to..Preferably car related..

Thanks..Ziga

At the risk of being controversial (and I do understand the reason for a joint event being potentially greater attendance numbers), my view is that joint events risk diluting the core rationale of these meetings, which for me is a celebration of whichever model it concerns. Surely if people want combined events, the TVRCC do plenty? In addition, it would be easy to envisage Wedges being outnumbered by a significant factor (due to production numbers if nothing else) and the Wedge element looking like something of a sideshow, despite all of Mark's tremendous efforts and continued patience to organise this event. I've got nothing against Griffs (even some of my friends own them biggrin) but IMHO, this is and should remain the BBWF.

Hi mate..Unfortunately the Hotel could only offer half the amount of rooms they did last year so all the rooms are booked up...However there is accommodation in the surrounding area, Which is a shame but out of my control....

Hi Paul...There was a fear that the BBWF would be lost and the combination of two events could possibly water down the fabric of the Wedgefest but hopefully this won't happen...Its two single model events coming together..If we can share the day and at the end of it sit down and eat and drink together then mission accomplished..Ideally all the things like raffles..Charity auction and prizes for the days antics can still be applied to each models..The BHP and DB classes will be keep separate as I'm sure it should be..We can all go on the runout, Hopefully i will find somewhere that interests us all..

The shirts & Caps will still be BBWF 2015 and Griffgrowl 2015 but maybe the mugs can be printed with the "Gredgefest 2015"...This might not ever happen again so is just a one off, The BBWF will always be and as much as i love ALL TVR's my preference is of course the Wedge... smile ..And if i had the money a V8 powered Vixen..lick

Im hoping that the Dutch turn up...The "Tug o war" rope will definitely come out of the cupboard again..Maybe Wedges Vs Griffs and the losers have to buy the beers...drink

There are rooms but just not as part of your agreed rates (also for 2 night stays) but without breakfast:
http://www.booking.com/hotel/gb/ettington-chase.en...
I've just put in 10 double rooms, 10 twins and 5 superior rooms for 2 nights and I has accepted it so there are plenty of rooms available. Guess they just want to get a better rate for them!
Can't understand why the hotel wont give you additional rooms as I did ask and I know you have too. The September date they gave me only gave us 20 rooms which isn't enough and they said they would look to increase these when they were full, but I doubt they would.
I have been unable to get any other dates for 2015 off them so unless we can find another venue a combined event is the only option.
I've booked for BBWF as I own 2 280 FHC's (1 S1 and 1 S2) and haven't been for a few years.

Hi Paul....Yes i had a friend who managed to book a room via the internet but when i questioned the Chase about it they were adamant that they have no rooms and don't understand why people are able to book rooms in this way?...I will be speaking to them today..Does seem a bit weird and i did think the same about the rates...Mmm...TBC.....Thanks...Ziga

Hi Peeps...I have spoken to the Chase and they have confirmed that there are NO rooms whatsoever and don't understand how people can still book rooms for that weekend on their website...I wouldn't advise it as anyone who turns up on the strength of that type of booking will probably be very pi55ed off when they get told there are no rooms available when they turn up on the day!

So its probably best if accommodation is sourced in the surrounding area for those who want to stay over...Bit of a shyte really..Especially for those who want to stay over and have a drink....I have been put on the first dibs list if any become available..Shame we can't enforce a push bike ban as that would free up a lot of rooms..I mean "Push bike rally"..WTF...I thought push bikes were for kids!..
