speed transducers on early pre cat griff

Need some technical help. Am sending my speedo to Speedy Cables to get updated to digital and they ask also for the speedo sensor to calibrate with it. I u understand that part, here`s my problem, since the orange toothed sensor is hard to get, is it possible to use a red toothed one ( 2 more teeth ) knowing that the speedo is getting recalibrated anyway. My orange sensor is still working but for how much longer.? I can get loads of the red ones for £15 brand new old stock.

Sorry no help on if you can or cant with the original Precat sender being in the gear box......

If you can't (I couldn't because I changed to a T5 gearbox) then you can fix a new sender unit to the prop shaft
