OK, I've tried a search and no luck. I need to replace my headlights with right-dipping ones for the car's French MoT in the new year. I don't want to pay the TVR tax if I can help it and I've heard that Mk1 Golf units fit. Is this correct and, if not, does anyone know of a car with the right units?

Racetech Direct does 'em in LH guise, but you probably knew that, at price as per your hint.....

Dunno if the Golf items fit, its not as you get them out for fun, is it ? wink

Perhaps you could give it a try on the French forum ?

I would try the MOT with the existing lights. The standard ones are so poor it won't matter much. Otherwise upgrade to 7". These are Golf. The original ones not.

Best,

Golf I headlights don't fit, they are too big, will only fit when you have done the Sportmotive headlight conversion (as I did)

The smaller ones from the Golf (as in the advert) are only main beam, not dipped.

I have only UK orginal headlights spare.

I thought the standard units were just 5 3/4 inch units.

Wouldn't something like this fit?

or this

I believe the original units were BMW 3 series - the twin headlamp one - sorry I don't know the e-number.
