Hi,

Anyone fitted TorqueV8's TorqueFlow system to their Griffith?

Keen to know how effective it is with improving the 'shunting' issue.

Many thanks.

I saw/experienced some significant improvements on several before and after installations, the main improvement was an increased smoothness in pick-up and some improvement in MPG. I think the level of benefit depends on the specification of the engine, for example he couldn't get it to work with my Tornado chip and bigger injectors.

That said I think there are more satisfied customers than not.

We let Jools at K&C tinker - solved our shunting issue and gave far better power and torque throughout the range.

Worth considering as an alternative.

I hope I have explained the reasons for this on the post on the Chim' forum.

There was a TF kit fitted to my 500 when I bought it. I don't know whether Eoin set it up or not but it still suffers from shunting.

bow Joolz is The Man! Got mine running a treat (has a Vitesse twin plenum) where others failed.... He re-maps 14CUX ECUs as well as aftermarket. Possibly cost you less than the TorqueFlow thingy too!

The best thing to fix the shunting is book a session with Mark Adams and get the car tuned properly. Mark fixed a host of problems all the garages I tried couldn't. Never had the problem again! I go back to mark every few years and get him to remap. Well worth it.

David is obviously happy with his install and lets the whole world know, but if you want to really see whats going on you need to plug ECUmate or RoverGauge into the ECU and see what the fuel trims are doing. These tools where not available when the product first hit the market place, so one could only guess how the ECU was coping with the shift in AFM output, so really you could say what you like about the product and no one could contradict you. However the early units where appalling both in build quality and calibration under bench testing I did. I have come across 4 of the units- 3 of which where removed as the engine fuelling was so bad, but to be fair to Eann, this was some years ago, and I would seriously hope that the whole calibration process has been changed and I know the alluminium case has certainly improved to keep the water out. The Torqueflow tube is no different to any other bigger AFM, its simply less restrictive than the stock Lucas 5AM unit, just like the Bosch unit or Lucas 20 AM that can be readily fitted with a remap.
