Hello Hoover, only just seen your reply, thanks mate ! But do you remember this Cascade Purple Tuscan color 5 GT Turbo ?

We believe it was Tower Veiws own car and painted to advertise the business. It has their number plates and TVR contact details on it.

Great way to advertise a TVR biz, the color is stunning !

I had that car as the loaner .. Dave's own car.

It was mad as a box of frogs.

Tbh I don't remember that Renault 5, as my eyes were always drawn an SD1 Rover they had lurking in the darkness of the workshop

I'm guessing you own the R5 GT turbo now .....my mate has a Raider at the time it was scaringly rapid for a small car made of heavy duty tin foil .....it also ate clutch cables regularly, many a time I remember him upside down in the footwell fitting a new one

I used to use them to service my first TVR back in the 90's and they were good and honest in my experience. Long walk to the nearest tube; I remember that.

I think the owner was called Dave Wallis. If it was him, i remember the days when he worked/owned a company called 'Coupes' based of the Cricklewood Broadway. A shanty town of lockups, and was highly recommended in the Club magazine. He repaired the rear of my Taimar after a shunt, and replaced my bonnet frame in the late 80's.

OP have you seen this

Hi all many thanks for the replies, much appreciated and yes, we have just rescued it from over 10 years of storage. Turned a few heads on the journey back !

I've just put a post on that other older thread re Dave, fingers xd he sees it as I would love to hear his memories of it !

I now realise why Steve Heath used to take his Griff ( my Griff ) to Tower View !
