Supercharger progress
Discussion
It's been a while since I have posted..however I've still be active tinkering with my Griff. I have had the Griff for 10 years now and have changed the plenum (72mm) with matching trumpets, plenum spacer, cam and ECU (Megasquirt with EDIS/coil packs). I wanted some extra beans and didn't wanted to go the LS route. So it's supercharger time and the good news is phase I of the SC Power supercharger install is complete.
I have replaced the cam (V8D stealth) with a MC1, chiefly as I had doubts that the overlap of the stealth would make passing emissions testing (our equivalent of MOT) impossible as the compressed charge has more potential to escape out the exhaust during overlap.
While there isn't really that much to see, I thought I'd create a thread and post my progress.
The intercooler is in as are the air filter pods which fit in the space under the passenger side headlight. The air intake temperature sensor is also fitted (temporarily) there too. The charger oil cooler now fits where the air filter was with the oil lines routed inside the body and out of the engine bay. The carrier to hold the charger is also in.
I have run the cam in and have put a few hundred km on the car. I do need to retune the ECU as the MC1 is a little tamer however the car idles more smoothly and seems just a little more well behaved. Hopefully the charger will make up the deficit.
Next step is to reverse the plenum and reposition the coil packs, then add the charger. I'm in no hurry and don't want to take the car off the road, so not too sure when the next update will be.

Definitely take your time, I really enjoyed fitting mine. The kits are well made and the instructions were really good.
You might not of seen it in the Chim forum but I did a write up of what I did after fitting the kit and the changes I made.

I'm happy to share my Megasquirt map, I use a Microsquirt with EDIS so its an MS2 Extra map.

Hi Andy..yes bleeding was fine however a bit unconventional as I don't have a compressor. I filled the res/oil filter then sucked oil from "oil out" using a syringe. That sucked oil through the charger. I then back filled the oil cooler and lines. Checked the canister as soon as the car started and had oil flow running down its side walls.
Ran the charger in yesterday for 100 km, I'm off for a longer drive today... with boost.
