Griff Exterior Colors - Let's See Yours
Discussion
As above, let's see your Griff color. It's possible that there could be a few Griffs that left the factory in some "one off, special order" colors that have never been documented.
Il start with this, it left Blackpool in Mallard, possibly the only one to come out of the factory in this color. My painter, thought it was a Ford color and in different light conditions it would change to a gorgeous dark blue, then a stunning purple, which was more noticeable when behind the wheel.
My second TVR ( a 61 Grantura ) and first Griff, I bought it as a complete Griff novice in early August 2007 as a Divorce present to myself. I was then with the girl whom I hoped I would spend the rest of my life with. She was into classic / fast cars as well, we looked around, couldn't find a 3.0 CSL or an Alfa Montreal, almost bought a Fiat Coupe 20V Turbo, an Espada was just out of £ reach ( should have stretched myself ) but then I realised that virtually nothing for the money could touch a Griff from 0-100 and the search was on. I nearly bought a Green 500, but then this turned up in a motoring mag. I wish I had known back then, what I now know about these awesome cars. This Griff was a really good example. It was first registered in West Sussex in early 1996, a desirable HC model and appeared to have been Optioned by it's first ( mystery Sussex based car hire co owner )with possibly all the factory options then available. I had some great drives in this car, embarrassed lots of Impretzas and took it down through the Black Forest and then a few weeks later a tour of Arnhem.
I foolishly sold it in April 2008 to Germany.

Hi Neutral 3 I believe that quite a few Griffiths came from the factory in "Mallard" Full name is Mallard Green (even though it looks blue to my eyes). My dealer even described the colour as Mallard Blue. The colour came from Ford Cosworth Escorts and I think there were 2 versions of it with one being slightly lighter.See my "Mallard" Griff below:
Hi Mike, at last lol, Another Mallard Griff !! And yes, my V5 said Green, but just no way was it Green ! My old one looks like it was the darker shade of the 2 ? I remember someone saying that it could have been an Escort Cosworth color, but I can't remember the last time I saw one of those !
What year is your one ? Guessing it's an HC model ?
