Could whoever has the drilled out chassis check the tubes for 'wall thickness' as you will find tubes on the chassis evolved as time went by (the 60 x 40 with the rack cut-out is certainly one).

Tiz I wot dun it. I am happy to do that but don't have a method of measuring wall thickness through a 5mm hole... Anybody got a good idea? Pete

At best this is an eyesight thing with such small holes, but the external radius on corners of the 60 x 40 gives it away (the first meter of tube that has the rack cut-outs), from memory the uprights that have the engine mount tubes were changed over time to be thicker wall (so look there first).....some stunning tech/work going on with this AND I would be happy to pay for a A3 image (limited edition, signed..LOL), of the images Storm Guy!!! if you don't want to take money for this, then I would happily give to a charity/charities of persons/peoples choice (as I understand that this is not just one persons work).

Piece of welding wire, 90 deg bend at the end to form a small leg. Insert in hole and pull back firmly against the inside. Mark on the outside, extract and measure.

A solidworks model would be very useful :-)

Asaad,

That is a truly impressive piece of work. I'm getting a print off that chassis drawing framed to go on my wall.

Disappointed I wasn't able to help out, but you obviously didn't need any, bet you do need some sleep though. I’ll keep trying to get my system to read the scan data and let you know if I succeed.

Sprint will love this, but more work for you write the article.

Cheers and thanks,

Merci d'avance

Hi Clement

It was my chassis that was used for the original scan, however I never received a digital map of the chassis so I cannot give you the dimensioned drawing of the chassis.

However I do have the bare chassis still ( I am ashamed to say although it is now galvanized. If you can tell me how you plan to fix the roll cage, I may be able to pull dimensions......?

Pete
