Hadn't ever lost interest in 24 years, just never thought it would happen.

I will own my Griffith "forever" (for my forever at least, until I expire), and I can't see ever getting tired of it.

There are lots of good observations here,

I wonder the same thing. We see a "Posts" count, but not a count of reads - not sure the true value if that field was added to the table view of posts, but it would satisfy some of us within this discussion I am sure.

I think BJWoods also hit it on the head with;

I tended to ask more in the early days, I was newer, and there was less that would come up in searches on Google. Now I have spent more time with my TVRs, and have seen the posts before I have had to ask. Having driven a little over 650,000km in TVRs I tend to need help less often - I have been there and done that.

I still pop in on occasion and read the threads, and add some relatively worthless input, or find myself submitting a "ME TOO" reply.

Oh, perhaps that is exactly what I just did...

  • ME TOO!!*

I was a wedge man though the 80's and into the 90's, but the Griff 500 was soooo good when it came out I changed.

Had one '97 to '01 and bought another in '08 that I will keep until I can't drive. Best roadster ever IMHO.

I read loads of what's on here, and rarely post as I don't usually think I have anything useful to add.

Sometimes, when I'm really really bored, I read about Chimaeras too. But only when I've exhausted the Electric Vehicle and Science forums...sleep

I know, loved the c350 convertable in Miami for my 55th which got me thinking! The 250slk convertable is actually a nice drive, you can feel bumps .

Definitely blue ones! biggrin

I've been meaning to reply to this thread for over a week, but it's finding the time that's my biggest problem at the moment. I read the pages quite regularly but don't often find the time to sit and write a response.

It's not as if I don't have anything to contribute. I recently stumbled on an old .pdf document, what I believe is a complete Griffith parts list. I'm in the middle of converting it to a .xls file so that people can add alternative parts etc. I've also recently had to replace my old Cibie main beam lights and managed to find a supply of near identical Cibie lights at half the TVR supplier prices.

In 17 years of ownership I'm still not bored of the Griffith. I've driven it to work every day this week because of the weather. It's amazing the number of heads a car of that age can still turn! How many new BMW or Porsche sports cars attract the same attention. Every journey is an event rather than just a journey. I hope to add to my garage one day, but could never sell it. biggrin

GJR I'd be more than happy to help with that PDF if you are planning on adding it to the Alternative Parts List.

Hi Barreti, yes that was the plan. I managed to find a way to convert the document to Excel, but only a page at a time. I'm part way through 40 odd pages. Once I'm done I intend to submit both versions to PH's. But it's since occurred to me that it'll need to be converted again to the parts list table format that can be edited by all. That might be straight forward, but I've not got that far yet.

Help would be much appreciated. smile

Hi rich b ,been a while!!! Since the/my Taraka cock ups I have not driven it, well I couldn't even if I wanted to. It's been on my drive for 3 years, now it has to go to make space for the diesel slk convertable .

I'm a non TVR owner at present but have been contemplating getting one for a few weeks. Initially I was considering a Tuscan or T350, but they are incompatible with my height. So my attention turned to the Cerbera, but the running costs and fragility have turned me off. Today I tried a Griff and other than a problem with the seat at my upper back, I could probably go with this if I get a TVR, so potential newbie in this sub forum to create some activity!
