Won't need much guessing where it's advertised... Link

I know it's a SE but maybe an to start looking at your agreed valuations.

It doesn't have the Cerbera seats but maybe it was specified like that. Looks good value to me compared to the 40k ones they have.
I had thought about selling mine but now thinking about keeping it as I think TVR prices are about to move along a bit. They need to catch up with Porsche 993 prices a bit.

I remember thinking Wow that's pricey when The SE No 3 Starmist Silver one came up for sale a long time ago.
In reflection now it looks pretty good value at 19K less.. The 50k one has obviously been brought up to an incredible standard, but I do and have always liked that SE No 3 colour combination(Surprising to me that it's had no takers)

What I want to know is what did the previous owner do to it - it's had a new engine, new interior, new paint and what looks like a chassis refurb, all in under 34,000 miles..
so not exactly original is it? and where are the SE seats? Very nice car, beautiful in fact, but things getting out of hand? save a considerable few bob and look at the silver one with mulberry top, Portland/mulberry interior That's the one I'd go for, and it's 'original' Edited by macdeb on Wednesday 15th April 17:14

Odd though that a 34,000 miler would need a total restoration including a new engine. Also, if you're in the market for something with providence/originality, would that reduce it's appeal (I don't imagine someone spending 50k on a Griff is planning to use put too many miles on it......)?
Some of you folk are never happy. Perhaps the car has been restored because the owner was fastidious and wanted the car better than it left the factory? I know for a fact that if I had the money, my 35000 mile Cerbera would get rebuilt from the ground up. And why talk down prices? Even as a Cerb owner, I would be delighted to see this Griff sell at that money, it could strengthen residuals for all of our cars.

Oh, I'm mostly happy and certainly happy with the Griff. Didn't buy it as in investment though and was just posting what sprung to mind when I saw it. I suppose we'll find out if it's worth it when/if someone buys it regardless of whether anyone talks prices up or down. I thought the forum was a place for different opinions and debate - it's not a private sale and seems fair game for discussion to me. Perhaps your response is why folk like me don't post much. fb2 said:

You're being rather sensitive I feel. I don't recall saying in my post that the topic is not up for debate, but my point still stands in that certain people on this forum (not necessarily you) are never happy. The TVR forum is the only community I can recall being a part of where the owners talk the prices DOWN rather than up, and then in the next breath complain that they are too cheap for what they are! What we are looking at here is "the" perfect example of the last-of-the-breed of arguably the most iconic car TVR ever built. Even without seeing it, you can bet your life that it is in far better condition now than it was when it left Blackpool. I hope it sells, but time will tell.

I hope it's not necessarily me eitherMy point was that it's all in all great news that a Griff is worth £50k and to consider checking your personal agreed values.
But for me I prefer the combination of the SE No3 and save myself 19k,as and when it needs new chassis then take it out the 19k.
I can't read anywhere anyone saying a Griff is not worth 50K,the debate(Which you're open to) by a few is that is this one worth that price as some potential buyer may want originality.(That's the way I read it anyway)

I am all for the Griffith prices doing well as it will, no doubt, also help the prices for good condition Chimaeras. Prices for good ones seem to be increasing sharply.
Shame there wasn't a final 100 SE Chimaeras! Although I guess the Mk III version is almost that.
Yes, I know, a Chimaera owner posting on the Griff forum - whatever next
