I have successfully removed the old shock with out too much bother

However I have a nice new set of Protechs

I can get the tip bolt inserted no trouble, but can I get the bottom one to line up??? no chance

I have cut a bolt in half to keep the inserts in line with the shock

Please any solutions??

Hi Griffalow, I carried out a shock and wishbone refurbishment early last year, though I fitted the shock bottom mount into the bottom wishbone before assembling into car. Try this method though (note the bottom bolt is shorter due to the lack of room in the wishbone recess, I sourced 2 3/4" rather than 3"): Fit bottom shock mounting first (don't forget the two spacers either side of the shock mount on the Protechs), when fitted torque up as far as possible, support bottom of hub assembly now with shock fitted on a trolley jack and carefully raise till right height, align top mount (as it is more easily accessed than bottom you can use a drift or steel rod to push through helping alignment), push bolt through and fasten to correct torque. Hopefully this will be more successful for you? Let me know how you get on, or PM me and I will let you have my mobile number! Regards, Pete

He Pete - thanks for the reply - yes I saw the bolts where different sizes after about half an hour struggling - one shock in, now on to the second.
