Can anyone suggest a repair / temporary fix to a frayed edge on a roof panel edge? It can't be seen when the roof is up, so I just want to delay a retrim if I can.

It seems to have rubbed in the boot even with a cover on.

I was thinking of something that was black and ideally I could paint on that is thick and sets hard. Maybe a resin type compound but I am not sure.

Couldn't you just put a bit of black duct tape on it, if temporary?

The offending surface is the edge of the base of the hinge of the boot, maybe an idea to gaffa tape that ?

As to your suggestion to 'resin' up the edge, why not try to take a lenghth of heat-shrink (the kind you wrap around cables), cut it along the lenghth and heat shrink it on the edge ? (haven't tried it myself, must say.....)

Mine too, sort of explained why there was a piece of foam in the boot when I bought it.
Black Sikaflex or Ct1 should seal the frayed edges and not look too obvious.

Get a folding "surrey roof" from Roger Morris and leave the solid piece in the garage.

1inch black gorilla tape seems to have worked surprisingly well ! And now metal in boot that was causing the damage is covered.

Thanks for the help.
