SAD SAD NEWS

Sorry to have to break this news but Paul Stimpson aka GIZZER passed away earlier today aged 51.

Paul/Gizzer will for ever go down in Griff Growl folklore as Hoover and 'THE SHIRT' will endorse.

R.I.P. Paul/Gizzer, a real character to say the very least.

OMG! Terrible news. I met him at my first Growl. Never forget "THE SHIRT" auction and the story about his 'marked' Cerb.

RIP Gizzer

Absolutely devastated to hear this.

Genuinely was looking through some old Growl pictures the other day and thinking about him with Hoover and the shirt along with his rather splendid Griff.

A really lovely guy and thoughts go out to his family frown

RIP Gizzer

Bloody Hell! Didn't think I'd met him till I saw that video of his Griffith on the RR and realised who he was!

Terrible news and another TVR owner to die recently from the results of an assault. Very sad indeed.

RIP

Very sorry to hear that - condolences to his family and friends. I well remember the shirt auction - think he was actually bidding against himself at one stage as part of the fun, characters like that are few and far between.
Jim
PS Was it him who made the aluminium heat shields for the AFM that were for sale at the Growl then??

Have to echo everyone's thoughts - absolutely devastated to hear this. Last time I saw him I think was TAG11 at Goodwood.
As a tribute the Friday night at the Growl will be a loud shirt event so for all who are joining us please get searching for the loudest shirt you can so we can honour our good friend. RIP Paul you'll be sadly missed.

Very sad news indeed. I read about Paul's sad passing on Facebook earlier today. I never worked out who was loudest out of him or his Griff, both were very loud! wink

Paul was a character he had an infectious personality and was great fun to be around, I will never forget him auctioning off Steve (Hoover's) shirt off of his back. I spoke with him a few times on the phone about his Griff, he a was really nice guy with a true passion for TVR, always a pleasure to speak to.

Here is a picture of Paul with his stunning Griff on the rollers at the Griff Growl 2011. Note FFG in the background checking the figures as they come off the dyno, there would always be some friendly banter about who's car had the most power.

We need to do something in his memory this year at the Growl this year. RIP Paul (Gizzer) you will be missed and my thoughts are with your family.

Matt,
I'm not very well at the mo and did initially think a night loud shirt on the Friday but having giving it more thought we could do the whole weekend as loud shirt Growl in memory of Paul. Would be a fitting tribute I think.
Would need high participation though to have the impact. As you know most of my shirts are fairly loud anyway so its a no brainer from me.
