I posted this on FB earlier this week but in the interests of sharing am posting here also.
My pre-cat Griff 4.3 was at Option 1 during December for a full body respray before going to Dave the Trimmer for an interior makeover. I haven't seen it in person myself yet but from the pics and the feedback I received from Dave I think it looks fantastic (being biased of course).

Following are some pics taken before the beast was loaded onto a transport for its journey to Dave.

Will update with this with more as the interior progresses.

Thankyou for all of your great comments.
I was tempted to change the exterior colour (my first TVR was a Chimp in Antique Turquoise Starmist) but then decided to keep it as per the original owners handbook (Starfire Mica Blue) and I thnk Frank has done a nice job.

I have to speak to Dave and confirm how to handle the interior but I am probably going to stay with the original theme of Blue with Magnolia (or perhaps Ivory). with some slight updates such as seamed/quilted leather doorcards, tweeters to replace the ashtrays, etc. but not too drastic of a change. Just a simple refresh of a classic.

Also looking forward to getting the new dash from Pete Griff which should set everything off nicely smile

I nearly thought that was my old 4.3 until I saw the J plate !!
I thought that was a fantastic colour especialy when the sun hits it :-)
Is the interior biscuit colour ? If so I would keep it the same and introduce some dark blue into it either middle of seat or edges and door cards , tvr emblum on the head rests

My thoughts :-)

First Griff (T plate 500) I ever sat in was that colour scheme - it's an absolute classic. Navy dash and doors, then cream inserts around the wood instrument panel and around the gearlever, and cream hide door card centres instead of the carpet. Cream seats, navy logo in headrests. Navy carpets piped cream. Stonking. I'd go easy on the quilt-y thing and switch the stitching around - cream on navy and vice versa. Not that I've ever thought about it much hehe

Frank at Option one is the man when spraying these cars and he's done all my paintwork for me and I wouldn't go anywhere else. Look at that finish, looks like a steel car rather than ripply fibreglass bow Great looking colour too.
On the interior front if I may; whatever colours you choose try and make sure that the dash colour matches the door surrounds and not the door cards. So many get this wrong and the dash ends up looking like a replacement rather than flowing around the car. Have a look at Mpoxon's Griff, that is 'right'.
Just my slant hippy

I was thinking that sounds exactly like mine when, even down to the 1999 T plate, then behold some pictures. I have now got rid of the alloy dash and replaced with a Peter Wiggins dash. More on that here for those who are interested.

Now looks like this:

Funnily enough mine is going into Dave the Trimmer next month to have a few bits done. Namely new carpets, retrim of Cerebra seats in cream with fluted inserts. Getting the gear lever gaiter redone as well, currently agonising over cream with blue stitching or blue with cream stitching.

It is a nice colour combo and what sold me that particular car.

I sat in a Griff just like that when it was only a few years old - does it have AC? - the one I sat in was for sale at Cheshire TVR near Oulton Park a loooong time ago, must have been about 2002 smile

Mine does not have AC so it probably was't mine. My Griff was ordered at the same time as an identically speced car, two brothers both bought the same car in the same spec according to James at TVR MADS who I bought mine from, he has previously sold both of them. I understand there were slight differences in options between them so it might have been that other car you saw for sale. There was only around 100 Griffs made in 1999 so there is a good chance it was.

Sorry to OP for thread hi-jack. Very nice car sir and looks great. Looking forward to seeing what you decide to do with the interior.

Very kind as always sir. Good to see you again at the Garner Day last year. Your car sounded epic leaving, I was stood by the helicopter so you had picked up a fair bit of speed when you zoomed past. Considering you must have been stationary at the junction just down the road you seemed to have gained an awful lot of speed in a very short distance. Mental piece of kit!

No need to apologise Mr. Poxon.
Your interior is an inspiration (very similar to the one I have now except your looks so much better).
I think once Dave has finished we will be closer although I suspect with the Cerbera seats yours will still outshine.

Following is the current interior. I have already changed the seats back to the originals (which need a refurb and is the original reason I went to Dave who convinced me more needed doing!) and I would like a bit darker blue also.

Afternoon Paul,

I popped in to Dave the Trimmer today to discuss some options on my seats. I saw your Griff in the flesh, it looks a million dollars, the pictures do not do it justice. Paint work is stunning and those alloys look really finish it off. You just cannot beat Pre-cat griff with those BBS alloys. Perfection.

I don't think you will be disappointed with the finished result. As for mine out shining yours when it is done, I very much doubt it as mine is 100% original and starting to look a little tired. I am only getting the carpets and seats done as well so the rest will remain.

I saw this Tuscan when I was there last very similar trim to ours with the blue and cream and it looked awesome so I will assume yours will come out looking similar.

Keep us updated on how it goes and I shall look forward to seeing some more pictures.

Matthew

Hey Paul I went to see your Griff at TopCats two years ago and the interior had recently been refurbished, your having it replaced now?
