Evening all
I'm looking to replace the carpets in my Griffith in the near future.
Has anyone got any thoughts on whether I should go for a pre made set to fit myself or just purchase some carpet off the roll and cut and bind the individual bits.
I'd prefer to do the whole job myself as I guess it will work out cheaper.
Any advice on suppliers or type of carpet to use gratefully accepted.
Cheers Andy

I decided to make my own carpets from the roll, Big mistake!
After paying for the edges to be bound I saved very little, there are a lot of carpet pieces in a Griffith 20+ from memory.
Coverdale carpets make a set ready bound for the Griffith in various qualities and I found them very helpful. Their spray glue is fine but do not bother with glue remover, I found white spirit much more effective even on dried glue.

By coincidence I saw this company advertised this morning, up to you as I have no idea about them.

Thanks for your suggestions.
I re-carpeted a wedge a few years ago - and made a fairly good job I think.
One of my concerns with the pre-made kits is the fact that every individual piece has bound edges.
When I did the wedge I butted a lot of the pieces together so there were no obvious seams - like every other car in the world - and I think it made the interior look less fussy.
The only bits I edged were the two front floor mats so that they were removable.
Anyone tried anything similar on a Griff?
Anyone tried anything different?
Any good pics please?
Cheers Andy

Might be an odd alternative for you in UK, but I ordered my new carpet set from the Hungarian TVR enthusiast Verpoorten Automotive. I sent them my old kit to use as template. Quite pleased with the results and with their service, but surprisingly enough I found the fitting of the new pieces one of the harshest parts of my entire restoration. A LOT of small, flat, non-molded pieces that are to be glued in place with very visible seams. Very kitcar-like and far from "normal" production cars.
