Help Please! Has anyone got one of these panels they could loan me to get the design under way? Thought I had one in the garage, but after spending a lot of time looking can't find it anywhere. Many thanks, Pete
Pete, are you still after a panel?
I have one you're welcome to borrow sitting in the garage.

Hi SR, I am desperately trying to find my old panel to use as an example for devlopment, if not will have to go by the dimensions I have already from the dashboards. I also need to find the symbols used on the panels to import into CAD to create the black printed layer. My intention is to draw it up and then have them made from acrylic, CNC routed and screen printed on the back. Unfortunately the timescale is down to me developong the panel size and laying out the symbols. I already have a manufacturer lined up to make them! Will keep all posted as and when! Regards, Pete

You are also very welcome to borrow my original panel as I'm now using a new one I bought from Green Meanie.

Also, Thanks for the beautiful dash & switch panel, they are a work of art and engineered like no other TVR dash.

Sounds like a lot of frustration here !. Why not try plumbers tape. £1.50. Can be fixed in 10 minutes, honest. I'm happy. Met a guy at Burghley who did it. Surprised him when I told him it was my idea. No patent fix !! Anybody interested will post topic from TVRCC forum. The best. Lol.

Hi Pen, its a great idea and it does work, but quite a few of these panels (like my old one) have the legend worn away or were damaged when removing them. I am trying to get them remanufactured to fit into new dashboards I produce. All the best, Pete

I don't wish to spoil the party Pete. I'm certain you can do a much better quality job as with your new dashboards. Since I need a new walnut veneer dashboard sometime this will do for me for now.

Ooo Pen, that dashboard does need replacement, don't hesitate to let me know if I can help. By the way the improvement to the panel is very good, in fact you have me thinking (dangerous I know), What if I have the panels made with a translucent white overlay screen print once the black background has been applied, therefore giving the same effect from the start? All the best, Pete

I hate to disagree but I do suspect that TVR could have done that in the first place. I sense that they wanted the symbols to be almost invisible when not lit... just like many other aspects of the car where everything is blended into near invisibility and smooth lines with a lack of any distinguishable lettering, numbering, or perhaps a nod in the direction of practicality... rear lit rear number plate, almost non-existent door handles, no exterior boot release, fuel filler cap, etc.

Don't get me wrong the symbols/lights do need to be able to be seen when lit, but isn't it just another of those quirky yet lovable aspects of the Griffs we have?

I tend to agree only somewhat ! Paul. A matter of owners choice I guess. I'm all for modest, tasteful modifications. Nice to have your comment from the USA. The LS3 Chevy motor in a Griff/Chim with an Evolution Chassis sounds perfect for today's motoring. Anyway, now back to Pete.

Hi guys, been over this morning to my contact to discuss the panels. No problems at all with manufacturing them, they have all materials in stock including a non reflective material instead of the gloss. they will be manufactured exactly as the original with the radius corners that will not only fit the existing old TVR dashboards but my re-engineered ones. Just waiting for a quote, have asked for breaks of 25, 50 and 100. Prices will of course depend on quantities. Will post price per panel.

Who would be interested? Please PM me!

I intend to offer them as an addition to the kit that can be supplied with dashboards!

Regards, Pete

I can probably supply these replacement panels for about £10 each plus postage! That would be for either the like for like gloss finish or an anti glare finish surface! Would all be CNC routed from 3mm acrylic and screen printed on the back just like the original. All the best, Pete

I have this morning committed to a batch of 30 gloss finish and 20 non-reflective finish panels, I envisage about a week to ten days. I have a waiting list of 20 (mixed finishes) from my dashboard 'customers' to satisfy, but will have spares for others that may be interested! Don't worry if you don't get one, now it is designed and a CAD file created I can have more batches made in future. regards, Pete
