Two thick pink cables from behind the number plate where they join the main harness and go up the nearside inner wing eventually ending up at the fuse board. In my '94 500

Have you checked the plug/socket to the fans, they frequently corrode and cause problems.

As above Perry.

Very common faults. Pullthem apart and spray with a contact cleaner and then push and separate them a few times to clean them up.

They are a frequent source of trouble, I decided to get rid of the plug/socket and soldered the leads, as fans generally last for several years the plug/sockets are IMHO not really needed.

My fans are also wired into the loom. Typical TVR I have five pink wires going into the fuse/relay board anyone got an idea as to which it might be LOL biggrin they are on the two blocks to the left of board

my fore finger is under a single wire and the other two pictures show 2 x double wires.

The 2 fat pink ones are the individual fan wires.
I had a second relay laying next to the fuse box that someone else put in. If you look on the club forum in the archives there is a diagram of the fuse box internals with where I moved the relay to if you don't have air con

hi man

Thanx for that.I take it to be the two, in the bottom of the three pictures. No access to club stuff so will have a poke about with the two fatties see what I can find. my horn was just a dodgy connector at the front waggled it about, back working so not linked to the fans.

The fan relay switched earth wire is the green/pink wire on that red multiplug. If you connect that to earth the fans should come on. Hope this helps.

Had an issue with my cooling fans, noticed the temp crawling up but when mobile no problem. Stopped for a mid run out meet up and someone said that they thought that they saw steam coming from the car in standing traffic !!!!!

Bye passed the otter switch, fans did not work. Completed the run without issue.

Booked Griff into local auto electrician ...... chaffed wire burned out the relay !

He re wired the original relay, installed another relay and separate small switch under the steering column binnacle for 'over ride' purposes.

Total fix and piece of mind £120

PHEW !!!!
