I have recently been suffering a slight misfire/hesitation on low to mid range acceleration which disappears as speed increases and load reduces. New distributor cap plugs and leads fitted. After removing the new plugs 3 are a pale grey on the electrodes while the others are clean. I suspect that the injectors are bordering on their last legs.
Has anybody experience of ultrasonic cleaning? Is it worth while or just fit new?
No mods so not needing any increased fuelling, which ones are the recommended choice?

Thanks

I bought a set of these over a period of time and then had them ultrasonically cleaned. Better spray pattern and higher flow rate so if your changing a possible upgrade for little money. I pad around £55 for the 8, then around £110 to have them cleaned and refurbished. Cant see any cheap ones at the minute though.

Before you do anything I would suggest that you check your vacuum advance is working properly.

A.

Assuming you're on 14CUX that is.

Fouled injectors cause one side of the plug to be washed clean on just one side where the fuel has not atomised as it should have when it enters the combustion chamber. Run a couple of bottles of injectors cleaner in the fuel system as a good starting point- it does work.
