Battery and Fusebox relocation - advice please

There's not a lot of room behind the seat, the top hold down plate seems to stick out a long way and may foul and damage the seat back if the seat is pushed right back and reclined. A carpet cover should prevent that though or maybe modify the front fixing.
That is a very good point. I did all the measurements and even made a template out of cardboard to test clearance and it looked good. I didn't consider the seat reclining though! FFS!phazed said:
Don't forget that many production cars have the battery in the boot/rear area.
Production cars these days are crash tested. I don't believe TVR were required to do this (even if they did so voluntarily) so their results were academic. There is a lot of structure in the back of my Jag to prevent battery and fuel tank intersection. The same cannot be said of a Griff with the battery in the boot!Matthew - I will find some pictures of the Odyssey installation.

what's stopping you fixing an "L" bracket either side of the amps and mounting the varley battery box on a shelve in front of the amps over the tank, still room before the edge of the tank to get roof in. aimho Thank you all very much for all your input. Some really good solutions people have come up with and thanks for sharing and taking the time to explain.
Decision made.... I am going to shamelessly copy eff eff's design with the two batteries behind the seats. I have managed to source the billet mounts from the same shop but on eBay and the customs and delivery charges are much cheaper through eBay's international shipping programme.
dnb - still very interested in your setup and new fusebox when you have a chance to rake the pictures out.

Here you go. There's no heater box or dash in the way so it would have been a reasonable picture if camera phones were any good in 2011.
Here's a clearer picture of the fusebox. The battery was deliberately cheap since I knew I wouldn't get much use of the car for 2013 to 2015, so no sense in having an expensive battery die through sitting around. (No electricity where I store the car)
