How rare is a 1992 K Reg Griff?

Just checked my V5 ..... and .... lo and behold, our TVR 4.3 Pre Cat Griffith's date of registration was 01.08.1992, but no model reference.

Just in time for the new 'K' Reg.

Never had a 'real problem' with M.O.T. but some say cats needs to fitted from 01.08.1992 !!!

Our 2002 Tuscan 1 was originally registered as a Three Wheeled Goods Trycicle.
Even Ernie's milk float couldn't have been as fast.

Doh, just checked car and know where is was going wrong, original number was a 'J' and not 'L', so I guess I'm in the rare variety :-)

My 92 J is on the road, also not sorn .

Ken,
TVR got around this by using the build date, which should be the date on the chassis.

FFG, where is the date stamp located on the chassis? Is this separate from the VIN?

Usually on the lowest cross member of the chassis at the front end, ie nearer the driver than the rad, although mine has a 500 chassis so not sure where the pre cats date is??
