A sunny day, so a TVR day :-)

However, no speedo today (1994 Griff 500).

Is most likely culprit VSS and where does this lurk ?

I guess if i plugged in Rovergaige i could see if there was a signal to the ecu or not.

Does no VSS affect running, it died once at a roundabout and shunted a couple of times at low speed ?

Do your Reverse lights work?

If not, check the fuse first...

TBH the reversing lights haven't worked for a while. I suspect the 2 cables connected to nothing underneath have something to do with that.

The MOT tester didn't seem bothered and i must admit it had slipped my mind until you mentioned it.

But the speedo has worked since the reversing lights were noticed as not working.

They run off the same fuse on mine.

You would have similar low RPM/Speed running problems if its gone.

Worth a quick check and maybe a 10p fix smile!

Puzzled on that- the Bible mentions that as well, but the transducer on the diff has no 12 volt feed to it on what Ive seen , its self powering. They do go faulty as water gets into the winding's and they corrode until they go open circuit. RoverGauge is of limited use as it reads the output of the speedo calibration unit, not the transducer itself. You can unplug the transducer and do a simple resistance check as its only a multi turn copper coil and magnet so if its open circuit its knackered.
