Wheels and tyres fit the arches as if a factory fit with no fouling at all on full lock or under hard acceleration on the rear. The 40 series tyres also have a relative side wall to protect the wheels if a pot hole is not seen and driven over. I would personally save the extra pennies and have a set of custom wheels made by image. English wheels on an English muscle car wink

They don't do 16", but you could go for 17" front, 18" rear. Looks like a set would come in at about £650....

Stumbled across this company online yesterday - looks like they are (re)manufacturing a wheel exactly the same as the TVR spider.

http://bolawheels.co.uk/bola-b7/

Emailed them today to see if they would consider manufacturing a 17" 7.5/8.0 wheel in this style and make them with a 4/5 stud PCD. Maybe a few people out there interested in that?
Thats weird I've just emailed them with the same request then stumbled on your comment, did you get a reply?

Those Dare wheels do indeed look nice, I have thought about those myself.
The only downside is that they do not do a 16" rim and I am trying to avoid going to 17" wheels on the front as I personally think the tyres end up looking a little lost. My thoughts only!

As you say, refurbed the Revolutions would look good, not sure how the offsets would work though, especially on the rear.

Regards Chris.

Chris what size tyres are you thinking to fit? With the 17" front wheels you could go up a ratio to give a slightly deeper side wall. A 205 45 17 perhaps. The rear tyres for a 7.5j rim would be a 235 45 17. If you were to fit the 8j wide revolutions the et19 offset would only push the wheel an extra 16mm to the outside. It wouldn't be an issue with a 245 45 16 rear tyre. Also the same size wheel and offset is a 8jx16 et20 original fit Escort Cosworth. Those wheels are fitted to modified mk1 ka so I'm sure a TVR Chimera would be fine wink

Was thinking of doing this for my Griff but I need to buy two sets of wheels for a staggered set of 16+17" wheels.
Ford made the rs option wheels of rs7 diamond cut in a 7jx16 and 7.5jx17. Both versions use the et35 and have the round badge fitted on the wheel nut centre cover so a suitable TVR badge can be fitted. They look very similar to the TVR estoril wheel but we could make a 16" front and 17" version. They are not cheap wheels though. Local to me I have a firm that does wheel refurbing, so even a rough set of wheels can be brought back to life. Straightening, welding are inclusive in the price and finish can be, paint, powder coat, polished face or diamond cut and lacquered again. Would you be interested in a set?

Hi all,

Ive been looking at replacing the standard wheels on my 500, Ive also been looking at the Dare wheels, or Lenso ones, I do like the look of the Image ones also,

As the car is white

I was going to go for black with the silver rim, I got looking at photos of various white cars with gold BBS's and liked the look, not sure how they would look on the Griff though
These Image ones look like they could be good http://www.imagewheels.co.uk/dm-alloy-wheel/

Does anyone have photos of a Griffith with 16s front and 17's rear?

James.

I Ordered a set of Image splits for my Wedge a few years ago. Following their very late delivery, and some measuring, it transpired that they were not the dimensions ordered, and the finish was poor - all admitted by the manufacturer. Sent them back and got my money returned. I wouldn't touch them again with the proverbial, ever.

I have the original OZ split rims, but because of the Big Brembo upgrade, I had to go 17" replica wheels...Lenso, by the way...
