Due to let downs, by TWO painter friends of ours, I've decided to go for a vinyl wrap!

Also, with my Son starting Uni on Monday, I'll have to 'Sponsor' him, until he gets a job...I now can't afford a £3k+ paint-job, so a grand for a wrap sounds brilliant, considering that the interior trim is still to come, and all the other 'little' extras, that soon add up...

My dilemma is; should I stay with tradition, or go with a Matte finish?

I will probably have it painted in a year or two, anyway...

If it was me, I'd go for something wacky just to try it for a few years before a full respray. Some of the new matt finishes look good and will make your Griff unique. Plus if you hate it, you can peel it off.

I would avoid vinyl wrap..try Matt Pack (google for website) he does plastidip and fulldip. The results are much better!

They had just wrapped a Mercedes AMG 63, when I called in...It looked Amazing! If mine turns out like that, I'll be more than happy!

Check out his website..the finish on the cars is superior than vinyl wrap, plus he's done plenty of TVRs smile

Is this the finish HCM above is talking about for c£1,000 ?

If it is then I might pop in one day for a look at a few examples and a chat. The finishes look excellent in the videos and photos but would still want to see them in the flesh so to speak to be 100% sure it was a viable option.

On a linked not how easy is it to remove the covering if you ever wanted to go for a full re-spray in paint ?

He's in Essex, and my body is off the chassis...The wrappers are around the corner from me...it's a case of logistics - transport, time, etc., = No contest...

I'd love to see a chrome Griffith, or more bare aluminium like an etype lightweight !

If you have access to a PS3 and a copy of GT5 you can paint a Griff in virtually any colour you want .
And it may well help you decide i havnt been on mine for an age just using it as a blue ray player but i
Had over 2000 colours to choose from .

Not sure who holds the plastidip rights if you read this. This company isn't so impressed with company in essex http://www.cardipuk.co.uk/car-dip-international-uk...

It doesn't mention anything about the quality/standard of the work though? The fact that the proprietor is confident enough to use it on his own Sag speaks volumes, I would have thought

The body has gone off to be wrapped in Satin Red to Gold Color-Flair(excuse the American-ism.!!) Price up to £1200, due to more expensive material...

Back in a week or so...Photos to follow...

Bloody hell! That looks pretty damn cool - like one of those multi-thousand-pound Sagaris paint jobs. Bet under sunlight it looks incredible. For £1200 that's great value.
Sticky-backed plastic has come a long way since Blue Peter wink

...now I have a problem with the interior...I planned for black and tan leather, and have already paid for the leather..!

Now, I don't think the combination, with the red and gold flip, will work...

Black is an obvious(but boring) choice...Has anyone seen a red and gold flip with a different interior Colour?

Or, any Suggestions? My trim guy has suggested Bentley Chocolate Brown...

The wrap looks very good. Must be tricky with all the complex curves on the Griffith.

How about a biscuit type colour? Always looks good when you see seats in that shade

The wrappers have just encountered a problem...The front is so tightly radiused, that it is nigh impossible to wrap the front in one piece. I have to accept that there will be two joins, by the headlights...I am NOT happy...

Surely they knew what car they were wrapping prior to starting. I'd be pissed.
