I have had the Griff for a few years now and think it may be time to have the outriggers done.

I have noticed various prices and in particular RPB Motors offer to do the complete outrigger replacement for £1750 all in.
I think they do this without removing the body, any thoughts or experience would be helpful.

Thanks.
If your outriggers are looking the worst for wear, whats the remainder of your chassis looking like?

Wishbones, main rails especially underneath the body and manifolds.

I don't know what your budget is for this,Sometimes its worth to bite the bullet and getting the whole chassis done in one go rather than requiring another bodylift in afew years time?
I have recently had the same issue, new outriggers were needing doing within next couple of years and chose David Geralds Sportscars after doing a lot of shopping around for prices and how the job was done. David Geralds take the body off completely to do the outriggers and cost is £2000, and alhough my chassis was very good and it was just the corners of the outriggers that were shot, i chose to go for a full body off chassis restoration. My reason was get it done now and wont have to bother again in my ownership, its lasted 20 years with crap powdercoat so it will last at least another 20 years. In my opinion i wouldn't have the outriggers done without having the body lifted as i've seen some shocking attempts.

Mine went to DG Sportcars just before Dave's did and all was completed in less than a month.

Great job done.

Looks good. What was the surface treatment?

You're asking the wrong man those kind of questions biggrin

No idea of the procedure, just from recommendations and the fact DG have been looking after my car for a few years now I felt I was in good hands.

I liked their quick turnaround and their honest approach of what realistically needed to replace whilst at this stage.

Another vote for DG - did my old Chimaera outriggers, top job and were more than happy for me to come down and have a look when the body was off.

The reason I ask is that I had mine done 8 years ago & they are still in pretty good condition. I just give the chassis a good clean & waxoil every year.
However, a friend of mine has just bought a Chim with recently (within the last few years) replaced outriggers (at a reputable TVR garage) & the surface treatment has worn away in several places exposing bare metal which is starting to corrode.

I guess these things aren't a fit & forget item...
