I'm after some advise here

'93 pre-serp 430, with cats - lambda sensors
Coil (Bosch)& leads (Power) & plugs (BPR6EIX) all 1 yr old also changed the extenders for socks

Dizzy; Limora 123 - no ignition module

Battery; few years old, but fitted with earth kill-switch

Fuel; about 1/4 tank, hence lowish....

As there is a ton of salt on the roads, I've started the car today (without problems, as per always - ran sweetly) to warm up on the drive, about 10 min in (coolant abt 75°) engine cutted out, rev counter instantly to zero, and would not restart (pump primes, engine cranking over)

Now, having read up at bit, came across a thread by Barreti, whereas Blitzracing noted 'loss of ingition trigger'

I will start to check wiring to coil and dizzy, king-lead, rotor and dizzy-cap (and leads & plugs if need be)

Is there anything else I have not thought about ?

Advise appreciated !

Frank

You will hear the pump run when you first turn on the ignition and it will then stop. It should restart as you crank the engine if it gets the ignition pulse, otherwise it wont run again. So its case of listen for the pump when its being cranked- not the initial pulse. Dead rev counter says a lot- no pulse to the coil from the 123 or loss of 12 volt supply to the coil.

Hi Mark, txs your reply.........pump primes, engine cranks, not sure if the pump restarts, will try to note next occasion (sounds as per normal really...)
As you say, the rev-counter is probably more indicative, will root around the ingition system to sse if I can find anything wrong..
