Chassis Sealant

I'm just about to finish my (normally) annual chassis check, and it occured to me that there may well be some manner of sealant on the market to help keep it clean.

Does anyone have any experience of any? I have some Autoglym wheel sealant in an aerosol which would possibly work well, or is this a waste of time and sealant?

The idea was just that standing dirt and filth washes off a lot easier and would hopefully be another step in stopping the chassis dissolving into dust over the years!

Waste of time*. You won't be able to correctly treat and apply it to the areas that need it due to access. The only bits you can get to which I would say are worth trying to protect are the rear arm hangers.
For everything else, you'd need to jack up the body, pull out the rubber mounts and practice trying to linish rusty metal through a letter box.

ACF-50 is an arisol product. You'd need to check it doesn't react with the finish though.

You could also try a silicone lube that dries, err, dry.

Dinitrol is good stuff, it dries and forms a tough waterproof barrier, it`s used on aircraft undercarraige structures and they get a real blasting. http://www.frost.co.uk/automotive-car-bike-mainten...

I used this material, also on all exposed bolt heads and nuts etc.

Cheers for the feedback chaps. I might try a little wheel sealant, just to to how long it lasts. Probably won't do a lot in fairness...
