Hi everyone,

Is it possible... to remove propshaft by removing the exhaust and disconnecting the bolts from the flange at the rear without removing the engine/gearbox or differential? If yes is a 2/4 post lift required or will trolley jack and or ramps give enough clearance?

Search throws up this thread from 2014...

https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

thread doesn’t mention any serious dismantling.

Regards Brian

Hi Brian

In answer to your question, yes that's easily possible without removing the box or diff.
no reason why that wouldn't be possible off of ramps under the rear wheels although getting the rear anti roll bar off might prove tricky with the wheels on ramps, probably axle stands would be better. Ive not tried either as i have a 2 post lift which makes everything easy lol.

As said above please do not rely on your trolley jack to support the car Axle stands or Ramps are a necessity.

I know of two DIY car repairers who had their vehicles collapse on them neither survived to tell their story.
