Pah, I reckon it's only a closed loop Wheatstone Bridge with a variable resistance(See, I've been reading up!)

The circuit must look something like the diagram bottom left of this page.

Full spec sheet for the components here which suprisingly show the exact part fitted to the Griff (well, to mine anyway).

Those UH03D's now come with the common connector at the top instead of the bottom, you have to bend it outwards over the top of the pot and make a small groove in the plastic housing with a soldering iron. Still do the job just fine.
