I'm not aware that "spiders" are made in 17", I can only think of the 16"'s and the 18"'s. Rich...

what would be the problem with getting the conversion done then just putting 18' wheels on the car at a latter date.

mines on order, I also spoke with the guy at TVR who did the conversion design and the 18" spiders (no 17" available) foul the arches

I am going for the 16", Neil at the factory said that the kit was for 16" as they have a surplus, I did ask about the option of 18", basically the answer was that they would definitely NOT fit the front, and would bind on the rear arches (I got the impression he had tried), and as the wheels are only made in 16 or 18 there would be no 17 for the front to match. So the set up is to match the last of the 500's 16" all round 225/50 on the front and 245/45 on the back.
The lead time is around 5 ish weeks. they are at the moment getting some spacers made to check it all out, the wait is for the test of the kit and then the machining of Tamora disks (I believe) to fit a Griff. Just hope i get the car back by Gang On The Green.

No need to leave the car on stands - The deal will work like this - Order/pay/recieve the entire kit (expect a 6-8 week lead at present) - fit everything (car should only be off the road for a day or two) - send your hubs back to factory for refund on "bond" that was part of the payment. Due to the STRICT condition the your returned parts be undamaged (i.e. you will need a proper bearing puller), I would set the work up through a garage, espescially as you may want to get a full alignment afterwards.

Why only post '94 cars?

Surely the wishbones and anti-rollbars aren't hugely different?

Why post '94?

The factory blurb says "Earlier cars with the smaller brake discs would additionally require new rear bearing carriers and new rear calipers.".

Do you happen to know whether the rear discs supplied as part of the package are original size or larger? Wondered because a 304mm front disc with 4 pot callipers is a big upgrade from the original which I would have thought ought to be balanced by a larger rear disc (or have TVR acknowledged that the original set up was too rear biased?)

The kit suits Griffs that have as original equipment: front discs 260mm, rear 273mm. It appears therefore that the AP upgrade increases front discs to 304mm but the existing rear calipers are retained and married up to new discs (measurements not supplied - but likely to still be 273mm.).

So - the front discs will be bigger than the front on the new set up, whereas the rears were bigger than the front before.

As the change is to the 5 stud mounts like the Tamora and the front disks callipers are Tamora based I would think that the rears will also come of the Tamora i.e.

Front 304mm ventilated disc with 4 piston callipers
Rear 282 mm ventilated disc with single piston callipers
