Can somebody please tell me how to release the tops of the door cards before I spit me dummy out!

Done a search and sussed the bottom but the tops are driving me nuts. Is there something behind the ashtray as can't get that out either!!

Thanks

Have you found the screws in the material cant remember how many but they are across the middle.
I think the ashtray should just pop out.
Also i think there are three nuts(oo er) one at which is along way down the door from Access through the speaker hole.

Thanks for reply BB.

Found all the fixings for bottom of door, 3 nuts and one screw (pun in there somewhere) under the reflector. The carpet bit appears to be screwed directly to the door shell, while the leather moulding (door pull) bit on top is fixed to an aluminium bar at the top?

Other cars I've worked on usually have this trapped on with clips etc.

Any advice appreciated.

I think the nuts that u undo are from the bolts that are attached to the door pull, isnt there also a screw at the door end near the latch.
And the leather bit just sits over the metal bar at the top me thinks.
All trying to help through memory so might be a little out.

Yes there are 3 screws (from memory) buried in the top edge of the carpet running parallel with the bottom edge of the window. Undo those and then the panel should lift up and off. Putting the panel back on can be a bit fiddly, you need to hook it over the edge of the door at the top and sort of make sure it settles in the right position so that all screw holes align correctly. I know this 'cos I got positioning wrong first time! Don't force down too hard when trying to get it in the right location or you might upset door alignment.
Cheers, Paul

Make that 5 or 6 screws buried in the carpet along the top. The bit that is hooked over the aluminium strip at the top is not bonded, just wedged on. You need to prise the door 'outer' from the inner card to get at the screws along the top.

(All info relates to my car, which is probably different to yours....)

Well 2 hours in total to remove the door trim panel and replace the felt/rubber into the window slider guide, and my arm isn't too badly scratched on the ragged edges of the fibre glass honest So all-in-all I'd call that a success - with thanks to you lot for giving me the information to also look for the screws across the top of the carpet board and that I just pull up the leather trim to lift it off the door Rich... with a nice smooth operating driver's window glass that doesn't rattle when I shut the door now
